chapter 9

Riley's POV

It's been a week since the whole incident with Jonathan and everything, we're still friends, we've actually grew kind of close within the past few days. I mean as friends, nothing more. Mia and Patrick are still broken up. I guess Patrick's a mess, that's at least what Jonathan told me. Mia was holding it all in until, the other day, where she finally just broke down, and told me how much she loves him and misses him. I told Jonathan that and he said that Patrick has plan, and all I have to do is bring Mia down to the ice, right after the game is over. I'm actually texting him right now

"So, what if Mia doesn't show for the game?"

"Don't worry she will!(:

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because I'm Jonathan Toews!(:"

I just roll my eyes at him, before typing

"So what's Patrick's big plan?"

"That my friend, is top secret!"

I just roll my eyes at him once more, before typing

"Whoever said I was your friend?"

"You did remember, your my Canadian girl and I'm your Canadian boy!(:"

I chuckle at his text, considering the fact that he's referring to our contact names for one another.

"Who ya texting?"

I just jump, when I hear my uncle's voice

"No one!! I mean Mia!!"

"Ok?" He says, giving me a weird look

"Patrick honey, shouldn't you get going, before your late?" I hear Abby tell him, from the kitchen

"Oh crap, I am going to be late!"

Abby and I, just roll our eyes at him, for his tardiness.

"Bye kiddo!" He tells me, ruffling my hair. I just frown at that, while trying to fix it

"Bye Abs!" Patrick tells her, giving her a quick kiss, before heading out the door

"So who are you really texting?" Abby asks, making her way to me, which is on couch

"What do you mean, it's just Mia!" I lie

"Oh come on Riley, you've smiling all week at your phone, it must be someone other than Mia!"

"Ok fine, it's a guy!"

"No shit! I know that, who though?"

I give my Aunt a weird look, before chuckling a little. You see Abby doesn't like curse words, especially since Maddy was born, she doesn't want Maddy to hear those words being said and thinking that it's okay to say them! So as you can for most part, at least in the Sharp's resident, there is a no swearing zone.

"Oh whatever, Maddy's asleep, she can't hear us! Now who is it?"

I laugh once again before saying

"It's Jonathan."

Abby face just breaks into a huge grin before saying

"Toews?"

I just nod

"Aw now ain't that cute! So then your dating, right?"

I nearly choke as soon as she says that and just nod my head no

"Talking?"

I gave her weird look before she says

"Yes I may seem old, but I know what talking is! You kids forget, that I'm only like 10 years older and that it wasn't that long ago for me."
