Rajveer is in Nainital since past one week. His new posting is here. Near her home town, Almora. Her house is just two hours away from Cantonment. When her parent's got to know about his posting from Naina who is in Kerela now, they wanted him to come home for dinner and he couldn't deny their sweet request. When he was returning back after dinner from her house he was recalling their conversation.
"Beta tumne agey apni zindagi ke bare mein kya socha hai? I mean why don't you settle down. Koi ladki hai tumhari nazar mein" Her mother asked him.
Rajveer was uncomfortable with this discussion, of course he wants to settle down but how can he take her name, after all they are Naina's parents. The girl he loves the most.
"Ahh.. Actually mein.. .. I. " He was hesitant, he don't wants to lie neither he can tell them straight away.
Naina's father understood his hesitation and said "beta mein ghuma fira kar baat nahi karunga... Sidhe sidhe tumse puchunga" He looks at his wife who gives him a nod to go on "tum Naina ke bare mein kya sochte ho?" Rajveer wasn't expecting such directness "apni umra ke experience se janta hu tumhare liye hamari beti bahot khaas hai.. Magar fir bhi hum tumse sun na chahenge... Kya sochte ho tum?"
He lowers his eyes due to respect and said "apne sahi kaha, Naina mere liye bahot khaas hai, utni khas jitna Naveen hua karta tha...... lekin waqt ke sath pata hi nahi chala kab Naina meri zindagi ka ek atut hissa ban gayi, kab uski muskurahat mere jeene ki wajah ban gayi malum nahi chala. Mein nahi bayan kar sakta ki Naina mere liye kya mayne rakhti hai, shayad sason se bhi zyada lekin agar seedhe shabdo mein kahu to" He looks straight at him as he don't feel guilty or ashamed to love her. "I love your daughter more than anything".
Meera smiled in satisfaction at her husband, who was also satisfied. "Hum jante the tumhara jawab yahi hoga. To ab shaadi ka kya khayal hai" Meera asked excitedly.
Rajveer was startled again with her direct question "shaadi? Magar Naina, usey to kuch bhi nahi pata hai. Achank se shaadi.. Meine to ab tak uss se iss bare mein baat tak nahi ki".
Naina's father smiled "Wo meri beti hai, janta hu uska jawab kya hoga.. Puri academy aur army ko pata hai tumhare bare me.. To kya Naina ko nahi pata hoga.." He joked while rajveer was embarrassed "Humne dekha hai Naina ki akhon mein, jitna usey tumse pyaar hai utni hi wo tumhari izzat bhi karti hai..hum uska faisla jante hai"
"Haan to beta ab batao, tumhe Naina se shaadi ke liye koi aitraz nahi na? " Mr. Ahluwalia shook his head in amusement at his over excited wife while Rajveer was embarrassed.
"Aram se Meera, tum to bechare ko dara rahi ho.. Wo kahi bhaga nahi ja raha hai" He laughed.
"Kyu na karu jaldi, apna beta kho chuki hu mein" Her eyes misted "ab damad ke roop Mein usey dobara paane ki iccha hai.. Kahi usey dobara na kho du" The couple went emotional.
Rajveer knelt in front of her, and held her hand "apki beti se ek waada kiya tha meine... Or wahi ek wada mein apse bhi karta hu.... Me hamesha app logo ke sath rahunga, aap mujhe kabhi nahi khoyenge".
She smiled emotionally through tears and asked " Matlab tumhe shaadi se koi aitraz nahi" Both men's broke out in a light laughter "arey meine aisa kya keh diya jo aap log hass pade... " She was confused.
Rajveer shook his head "nahi, mujhe koi aitraz nahi maam".
"Maa" Meera said
"Maa" He whispers emotionally as she pat his head in affection.
He came out of his reverie when his cell phone pinged. It was Naina's message. He smiled reading it.
*Ap Mill aye Maa Baba se? Am sure maa ne apko khoob khilaya hoga..and definitely unhone apni special paneer ki sabzi bhi banayi hogi...God I miss her food. Lucky you😔*
