-Chapter Nine-

Count the number of tears displaced
On lonely bedroom floors
A machine where your heart once was
Slowly takes the place of you

The disbelief on her face must've shown because RowanScar got up and started walking around her laughing in his cold, cold laugh. 

"Oh yes dear.... I knew him." His tail was on her face lifting up her chin, she lashed out at him angrily but he was to quick for her, she looked down in anger,

"Why?" She snarled still looking down, "Why wait till now? Why do you hate my father so much?" 

RowanScar's laugh stopped and tenseness flew through the air,

"Because he's my brother" the words came out as a growl "he was always soooo perfect sooooo talented while I was nothing but a SHADOW!" pain was etched into every word, "one day I tried trusting him, and it all fell apart!" He stopped and now he was laughing again tears forming in his eyes.

"Oh but I showed him! I revealed to her what he was doing every night! How he was coming all the way across Duskclan borders to meet his pretty little rogue ."

Lion paw was shocked an overwhelming wave of understanding washed over her, it made sense now, every time her mother looked at her in that furious way, why no-one talked about her father, he broke her heart and betrayed his clan, but somewhere in the back of her head she heard her stubbornness NO! HIS LYING!My father died! 

"Your a liar! He wouldn't do that!"

"Well how would you know" he meowed in his sick sick voice "you haven't met him, have you."

Lion paw growled, she wanted to launch herself at him and rip off his ears and why shouldn't she , it would teach him a lesson. But before she knew it RowanScar was pinning her down as though he knew what she was planning, 

"I have waited so long for this! He betrayed me, now you shall suffer." He whispered into her ear, what is this madman going to do to me?! She thought trembling beneath his paw.

"If your going to kill me so be it!" She meowed trying to sound brave, Barkpaw here I come! But he just laughed and laughed, 

"I'm not going to kill you darling," Lionpaw looked up at him in bewilderment, he lent down closer to her ear, her heart beat faster and faster with panic, adrenaline rushing through her veins. 

"I'm going to destroy you." He whispered, NO! a monster took control of Lionpaw, it was her thoughts, her heart, her mind, she was savage and she will kill. She threw RowanScar off herself and he landed clumsily on the ground trying to find his footing, she launched her self at his throat but he dodged, she dropped back onto the ground and turned to him launching herself forwards, this time not at his throat but where he would go next if he dodged her, her plan worked and she had him pinned down finally and her unsheathed claws were ready to rip out his throat, what am I doing! Lionpaw was about to strike but she knew she couldn't if he was truly her fathers brother than he was kin, and kin couldn't kill kin, but it only took a moment of hesitation for RowanScar to throw her off, she tried getting to her paws, she couldn't.

"Your good apprentice," He growled " but not good enough." A sheathed paw came flying her way, she wasn't ready for the blow and it knocked her across the meadow. "Now... who is the mentor here?" She wouldn't grace this toad with an answer she stayed still and silent glaring at him, he walked over to her weak body eyes blazing with hatred and he pressed her face into the dirt, "I'll ask you this one time, Who is the mentor here?" He spat

This is defeat, she thought, he won't kill me, he'll torture me, what have I done to deserve this?! She silently wailed to starclan. She trembled her eyes filling up with hatred anger and pain.

"...You... are." She weakly meowed.

"Good..."
