Lion kit sat down in her nest of soft moss.
Why does Swift Falcon always take so long on patrols! She wondered impatiently, Its as though she doesn't want to see me! at least I have Dawn Brook for company! The pale tabby queen was always very kind to Lion kit, she always played with her, laughed at her jokes, and treated her as though she was an equal but Lion kit knew that would all change when her kits came so she made most of the expectant queens company.
" Hey Dawn Brook! Look how high I can JUMP!" Lion kit called out and of course Dawn Brook immediately turned around to see Lion kit jump so that her ears touched the roof of the nursery.
" Be careful," Dawn brook purred a warning "I don't think Gentle Star will be to happy if you wrecked the nursery roof with your head! He might make you fix it!" Lion kit purred and her whiskers twitched,
If only this could last forever, she thought sadly, but when its over I'll have new friends to play with! she decided happily.
The rustle of leaves made Lion kit prick up her ears and look across the cavern that Sunclan lived on towards the buckbrush tunnel that was the entrance to the camp, taking a large inhale through her nose she recognised the scents of Lush Leaf, Ice nose, and Owl feather but most importantly of all,
Swift Falcon, Lion kit thought excitedly breathing in her mothers familiar scent.
" Swift Falcon, Swift Falcon!" Lion kit bounded towards her mother weaving in between her legs and purring loudly " Where were you?" she asked curiously but Swift Falcon's only response was an annoyed grunt (as usual) so Lion kit had to fill in the gaps herself.
" You were hunting!" she squeaked excitedly, suddenly noticing the large plump bird hanging from her mothers jaws " Is that for us ?!" Swift Falcon stiffened and dropped the bird.
Oh no, Lion kit winced, what have I done now.
" This," she said flicking her tail to the bird" Is for the clan." she hissed coldly and struck a well aimed blow at Lion kit which sent flying across the cavern away from the sunlight and into a shadowed wall of rock. None of her clanmates stood up for her, none of them looked to see if she was okay
