Both of my parents are mad at me. I can tell. Because as we are waiting in the waiting room for Everly to wake up from surgery my mom keeps glaring at me as my dad is reading a book.

When the white BMW hit Everly I called 911 and they took her to the hospital. I called my parents and of course, I called Everly's parents and told them what happened.

Then the doctor told me that Everly hit her head pretty hard against the cement of the road to where she had to get stitches in her head.

The doctor told me that if I hadn't called 911 then she would have died.

My dad sits next to me. "Your mom is really mad."

"Yeah, I know that dad. She keeps glaring at me." I said.

"I know. She does the same look at me when I haven't taken out the trash, or if I haven't done the dishes yet." he quietly laughs.

That's when the doctor comes out and walks over to me. "Everly just woke up, we are first letting her family visit her then your next."

I nod my head as Every's parents go follow Everly's nurse into her room.

I wait about another hour, then they let me in to see her.

What if she doesn't want to see me? What if she really will never speak to me ever again.

I knock on the door, I hear her say to come in and I open the door.

I close the door and I walk over to her as I sat on the edge of the hospital bed. "Hi, it's me, Travis."

It feels as if Everly is looking into my eyes, but before she could say anything I start to speak. "I'm really sorry, Everly. For everything that went down, I don't know why I threw your necklace and your cane into the water. I guess it's because I wanted to look cool, but now that I keep thinking about what happened at the beach I feel so bad. I shouldn't have thrown your necklace or cane into the ocean I-"

Everly stopped me. "Travis it's okay. It's fine, my parents got me a new cane, I needed a new one anyway it was getting old. I just feel bad for the sea animals and the ocean environment because you threw two things that aren't healthy for the ocean."

I smiled at her. That's my Everly. I stared at her for a while until I remember something. "Oh, before I forget I got you something."

Everly smiled, "What is it?"

I took out the small blue velvet jewelry case, and I opened it as I set it in her hand. "It's a necklace. I made sure to get one that looked exactly like the necklace that your grandmother gave you, it's the same color of chain and the same crystal, which is amethyst. I know it's not as important as you another one, but I-"

"I love it," she said as she looked at me and smiled, "thank you, can you put it around my neck?"

I smiled, "Sure."

Everly pulled her long brown hair to the side and I put the necklace around her neck. Me feeling happy inside and glad that she doesn't hate me after all.
