Old Fountain Well

Wishes...
Toss a coin in the air
To see it turns so flair
And drop... Splashes!
The fountain well
Built in marble and stone
Stands alone
By the greenest dell
In the ruins of an ancient fortress
Where the pretty princess
And the son of the smith
Played and dreamed of wonders
And loved each other forthwith.
The stone darkened with time
For the moss and mold
Dressed the aged lime
With dampness and cold.
The floor, barely covered
By greenish water
Glistens with silver and copper
Of hundreds of wishes buried
For the rich and the pauper.
