She Waits

She's still waiting...
Sitting on the bench
By the dock, staring.
Falling tears drench
The march of the clock.
Wrinkles hadn't wrung
Her heart... on the dock.
Endless hope is hung.
Ships embark... boats go.
Lost in the distance
Her sailor is a flow
Of persistence.
She waits... eternally.
Does love meet an end?
Is there calamity
Enough to bend
The strength of faith?
She waits for her lover
Turned into a timeless wraith
Yet time and love all cover.
She waits...
She's gone...
