Cabin Reveries

There's a log cabin
in the middle of a lake
the water placid, serene
mirrors on its crystal slate
the immensity of the blue sky
and the earthy green.
My father built it
when I was a child
for us, to spend
the summer mild.
We used to go fishing
by the lake's shore
but I liked more hiking
and the woodlands explore.
Now as a grown man
dad is not here anymore
I came back to our cabin
the place I adore.
Spring bloomed joyful
with flowers and memories
so vivid and colorful
cabin reveries.

Inspiration:
Entry for the 5th challenge for the Pic-A-Story multilingual project. I tried something a bit different this time. The picture inspire me to write a poem. This image brings mostly images rather than a long story to tell. Yet I tried to tell a story within the verses and comprise format of a poem.
