You're back in New York after being undercover.
Deciding to go back to New York as a detective and working at the 99 seemed like the best decision as your friend Amy already worked there.

You woke up at 6:30 am sharp. If your undercover work for a gang had taught you anything it was that you NEVER want to be late. It seemed weird waking up with a purpose, but that excited feeling in your stomach made you realise that you had made the right decision coming back to the Big Apple.
You pushed your bedcovers aside, even if they were the only warm thing surrounding you on this weirdly cold Autumn day. Your apartment did have heating, but you were already paying New York rent on a detective salary, so the luxury of heating would have to wait. As you went to stand up the nerves suddenly hit you. Worried about the day and still only dressed in your pyjamas, you pulled out your phone and messaged the one person you knew would tell you the right answer.

Less than one minute later your phone glows with that all-important response.
Amy: Don't worry Y/N. You're going to be just fine. Everyone is so excited to meet you!

You smiled at your phone, Amy always knew what to say and you were lucky that your closest friend would be there to help you through your first day.
Putting your phone down, you walked over to your wardrobe to pick out a first-day outfit. You decided to not dress too casually. It was your first day and you wanted to look your best.
