~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kaede Akamatsu
Weeks had passed, and I had spent most of the time just sitting in my room watching the killing game progress. They had managed to rescue even more people, some completely unscathed like Tenko or Miu, and some needing a lot more recovery time, like Kiyo or Gonta. It seemed to be a lot rougher for people who had to go through executions, so I guess I was in good company there.
Even though some time had passed, my neck was still terribly bruised and my legs were still all wobbly. My hands had stopped shaking as bad, though, and now they only slightly trembled when I tried to use them.
I was laying on my bed, closely studying the TV set when I heard a knock at my door. Not breaking my focus on the TV, I yelled out.
"Come in!"
The door opened, and in walked Makoto. He nodded and gave me a soft smile.
"Hey, Kaede." Makoto waved. "Watching the killing game again?"
"Oh, yeah." I struggled to sit up. "There's just not much else to do, you know?"
"Mhm." Makoto's eyebrows lowered, obviously doubting my statement. "Who is it?"
"What?"
"I mean, you're watching this because you're worried about someone. Who is it?"
"What!? That's not..." My face got all hot. "That's not true! It's..."
I trailed off. Makoto looked to me and smiled.
"What did you need from me anyways?" I tried to change the subject.
"Oh, Miu was working with Kazuichi on something and she wanted everyone to come see it."
"Miu is actually working with someone on something?" I was shocked.
"Hey, I'm just as surprised as you are." Makoto grinned. "But, yeah, they're in the workshop when you wanna stop by."
Makoto turned to leave, but before he went, said one last thing.
"Oh, and Kaede? You can lie to me, but you can't lie to yourself."
~~~

Eventually, I made my way to the workshop, where everyone else was waiting for me.
