I sat alongside the rest of the guys on my horse, watching as the Murphy Boys drew closer and closer to where we were. I couldn't help but be scared to death, I was newer to this gunfight thing than the rest of the guys were so I was basically prone to being the first to get hurt or even worse, get killed.

"We're gonna die Billy." I said coldly looking in front of me still not turning my head towards him.

"Now, I don't want to hear that negative attitude. Look on the bright side." Billy said with characteristic smirk on his face.

"Yay, we're gonna die soon! Woooo!" I responded this time, with a smile on my face, I couldn't help but get amused by my own remark.

Billy looked at me with a smile on his face before saying "I have never met a girl like you before, most girls I know ain't funny and they sure as hell aren't as good with a gun as you." and laughing at the end.

I smiled before saying "Why thank you Billy, but I think we have a problem at hand that's about close enough to shoot us." and pointing my gun in their direction.

"That's a valid point, Regulators! Shoot!" Billy yelled and everyone started shooting as quickly as possible with as much accuracy as one can achieve.

The Murphy guys kept dropping like flies and we couldn't help but feel some joy that this thing would end soon. There was just one guy left when all of a sudden I felt a burning sensation in my side.

"Oh no," I said to myself knowing that I was just shot. Before I knew what was happening I dropped off my horse, falling onto the hard ground.

"Y/n!" Billy yelled riding his horse in my direction after he had just shot the last guy there.

He hopped off his horse and and placed his hand where I was shot making sure that there was enough pressure to stop the bleeding.

"Come on Y/n your going to be okay, the bullet barely hit you." Billy said ripping up a piece of his jacket and wrapping it around my abdomen.

"Thank you Billy." I said in a raspy voice.

"It's no problem now let's get you outta here." Billy said with a smile.

I was thankful that I barely got hit, but that being said it hurt really bad still and I definately wasn't looking forward to the long horse ride back to town. Billy got on his horse and picked me up in the process placing me in front of him so that I wouldn't fall off. At this point I was getting super drowsy and I knew that it wouldn't be long before I passed out.

I woke up in a room that was unfamiliar to me, and there was this sense of panic flowing through my body. I sat up and felt a sharp pain in my side which got the attention of Billy who was sitting on a chair in the room with me.

"Woah there Y/n, you better rest." Billy said with a smile.

"How long have I been out?" I asked curiously.

"Just a couple days, I stayed here to make sure you were okay." Billy said looking very tired.

"You didn't have to do that, did you get any sleep?" I asked hoping that he didn't go out of his way so much for me.

"Um no not really, but it's okay." Billy responded shrugging his shoulders.

I scooted my body over on the bed so that there was enough space for Billy to lay down.

"How about you come over here and get some sleep." I offered kind of hoping that he would say yes.

Billy smiled before saying "I don't think I could do that, I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

"It wouldn't be a problem I promise." I responded with a smile.

Billy must have decided yes since he crawled in next to me and covered himself up with the blanket on the bed. Not going to lie I really wanted to make a move so I gently rested my head on his chest causing him to jump a little bit, but he adjusted quickly and wrapped his arm around me causing me to feel safer than ever. The two of us stayed like that and fell asleep super quickly.

Let's just say I'm hoping that this whole thing will turn out well in the future because I am already falling for thee Billy the Kid.
