"So how's this color for the backdrop? I don't want it to clash with the purse Ms. Wright assigned to us," Sunny rambles, it's a dark midnight sky color. I'm surprised she didn't choose a brighter pastel.

"Yeah, it looks good."

"Ruby is everything okay? You've been having the biggest thinky face lately. Is it this project stressing you out?"

"Not necessarily," I say looking at the color we chose. It's the color of Violet's favorite scrunchie, "I'm just thinking about someone lately, no big deal,"

"You know you can tell me anything, I won't judge or tell anyone."

"It's just... I don't know, I caught feelings for someone I've known for a while. It's hard to act like we're still friends when I just want them to want me the same way I want them."

Sunny looks at me and opens a blank canvas,
"Okay, let's visualize this Ruby. This here, is you." she draws a red heart onto the screen, "Your heart is wanting somethi- I mean someone. The only way to make your lil heart feel better is to tell that person and share it," she draws another heart on screen, "Even if that person doesn't feel the same, it's better to communicate and let your feelings be known than shut in the dark. That just causes..." she draws an x over the red heart, "Many sad face emojis."

"Yeah, I'm just scared I guess. Do you think I should ask them to Saturday's party?"

"If that sounds like something you'd be comfortable with Rubes! I support you 100 percent!"

"Awesome, I think I just might. Thank you Sunny,"

"Don't mention it! I love you Rubes!"

"Love you too girl. Now let's get this thing drafted,"

-

"Hey you guys going to the football game Thursday? River says it's good luck if the uniform designers attend!" Amaya blurts as she looks to Jade,

"Oh I'll have to see. Bella was planning a reunion picnic for our old runway group, but maybe we can tweak the plan. I'm sure she wouldn't mind coming to the first big game of the season."

"Oh my goodness that sounds great! Colin's arriving early this weekend for Saturday's party!", Skyler chimes, "Maybe you guys and Bella can finally get to know him better!"

Jade Amaya and I quickly glance at each other, "Sure Skyler, but we can't promise to tolerate bullshit if we sense any, okay?"

"Yeah, but I promise that won't happen, for sure. He's really changed you guys. You have to remember we were all freshman when that stuff happened, he didn't know any better,"

"Alright Sky, but just saying, some people do not change."

Her phone vibrates and it's Colin. Skyler nods to us and waves to signal her exit, it's just me Amaya and Jade now. I lean into Jade,

"Colin probably hasn't changed, huh?"

"Nope, stalked his socials, messing around with a few girls at the moment. I interrogated Sky about it, she claims they're family."

"That's rough, she really deserves better than that,"

"Yep but we're not getting through to her. Plus it's hard to let go of your first relationship, you know?"

"Don't you dare retell the story of the parfait chick-"

"Oh I'm sorry, do my previous relationships annoy you?" she says holding back a laugh,
"No, oh my goodness! If anything I need your help. I like someone, and I wanna take them to Saturday's party. And I've crushed on girls before, but never actually acted upon it. I need some sapphic help girl."
