Dirk has a robot of Jake too. But since it never got a brain, he was never activated. Sometimes when Dirk is feeling unbearably alone, he sits beside the Jake bot as he talks to Jake. Because he finds it comforting to pretend, even if the unactivated robot is not a good substitute for real company.
