It was silent, I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings, well it wasn't hard to tell where I was considering the previous events. It looked to be around 7 o' clock. Shit, mum's probably worried sick.

I noticed a weird rectangular box in my lower left vision, with writing above it and 3 heart shapes. Vitality: 100%, lives remaining: 3 Alright. So basically something weird is going on. Is this a hotbar?

I sat up, or at least tried to. A splitting headache made itself obvious in the matter of a few seconds. Looking down, I saw blood. Like, a lot of blood. Traumatising amounts, but there was no doubt it was mine. But for some reason I was completely fine and uninjured. Actually, I was unhurt if you ignore that stupid headache.

Sorry, Izuku Midoriya. That's my mistake, it would seem your body is having a hard time adapting to the entry of myself and your new quirk.

"Ehh? A quirk?! What are you talking about I'm quirkless!" I yelled to the voice.

Izuku Midoriya, you don't have to yell or actually say anything. Just think anything, its easier to communicate that way.. and less embarrassing. But yes, a new quirk, it was given to you as you fell, your headache is mostly caused as your body's having a hard time adapting to all of the side effects.

Side effects? What side effects. This is a lot to take in.

Upon receiving your quirk there should be a few obvious changes to your vision and traits including your intellect and strength. You'll notice a 'hotbar' as you might call it at the bottom of your screen, inspired by what you call video games. You're also much stronger and smarter.

Are there any ways I can check other than actually testing on heavy items?

Yes, by saying or thinking the following command a new sign should pop up in your vision. "Quirk Stats". It'd probably be easier saying it out loud the first few times as its hard to execute as a thought for some people. I'd recommend whispering to avoid attention.
