1. Don't put too many A/N's, one is just fine and create a new book for your freakin' tags, people, just wanna read the story. Also if you're gone for years, just admit you quit or have had a family problem.
ex. |Don't do this:
A/N nOt A cHaPtEr
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
A/N NoT a ChApTeR
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
I'vE bEeN tAGgEd
Chapter 6
(Has not updated in 5 years)
NoT a BoOk ChApTeR - "so I have been caught up with school work"
Me: for 5 years...
"So yah"
Me: just admit you want to quit
2. If you haven't updated in years on your book, don't say stuff like "if you are still here you are a 'tRuE rEaDeR'" and that stuff. It's really annoying and I hate it.
3. Don't write about an overused topic, be original because it becomes boring.
4. Don't advertise your other books or sequel on every single page, it's just becoming a nuance. If you don't own the characters, you also don't have to put that you down own them on every page. The same goes with A/N's and stuff.
5. Have an opening chapter (a prologue) to start the book off and give suspense, if you don't, it'll probably give off less of a 'wow' factor.
6. Have spacing between " "' s and commas, start of sentences and stuff.
ex.| (Lines indicate where you should put spaces)
"Hi, I am Maya" she said. "I'm your new babysitter".
