Dutch looks like this

I breathed a sigh of relief at Daan's message and set my phone down.

"Everything okay?" Mal looks over.

"Wonderful, Daan replied." I show her my screen.

"You could never not get along with me," Mal scoffs.

"Good to know you're humble," I laugh.

"You know what London?"

"Hmm?"

"You should tell someone," She sighs.

"I'm not having this conversation."

I left Mal in our room and left the hotel. We passed a lake on the way here so that's where I went. I sat down on a bench and wrapped my coat around me. Scotland was really cold. The sun was setting making the water pink and orange. I pulled out my phone and opened my messages. I sent one to Kim so we could meet up before the game and talk.

"Ya know, you should really not wander around Europe alone."

I turned around and saw Abby.

"I saw this on the way to the hotel," I explained. She sits next to me and looks at the water.

"It's pretty. What's on your mind though? After the match against Portugal and with Mal?"

"Mal and I have a rocky relationship right now. A lot of shit went down before I left and it's still there. As for the match, just nerves."

Danielle's POV

"Has she messaged you?"  Jill asks for the tenth time.

"No. I told you I'd tell you when she does."  I say.

"If she messages,"  Viv points out.

"She will,"  Jill says.

"Who will?" Lieke asks.

"One of our teammates is ignoring everyone" I explain.

"What did you do?"

"I did nothing."

"She's very protective of her. A little obsessive."

"That's sweet though!" Jackie says.

"She's been ignoring us for weeks before this,"  Viv adds.

"So maybe we overwhelmed her with half the team coming over and trying to talk to her but that was a while ago." Jill sighs.

5 days later

"No message yet?" Lieke and I were walking back to our room from team bonding.

"I'll check but probably not."  I pulled out my phone and saw London's name on the screen. I opened the text and read it.

Hi Danielle. I'm still alive by the way. I got called up to the US national team for their November camp. I'm sorry I didn't tell anyone, but I told Kim. So ya know, and actual adult knew. Anyway, miss you tons!

"She texted me!" I told Lieke.

"Wait. What does she mean so an actual adult knew? I'm an adult!"

"Did she say that?"  Lieke asks laughing.

"Yes! wait- Kim knew!" I realize.

"You guys have problems."

"I'll be back,"
I left to go find Jill and Viv to let them know London was still alive.

"Jill! Vivianne! Where are you!" I shouted. A very unamused Vivianne came out to the hallway glaring at me.

"What Daan?"

"London texted."

"What did she say?"

"These are her exact words: '
Hi Danielle. I'm still alive by the way. I got called up to the US national team for their November camp. I'm sorry I didn't tell anyone, but I told Kim. So ya know, and actual adult knew. Anyway, miss you tons!'"

"Kim knew!"

"She said we weren't real adults!"

"Why are you guys yelling?"
Jill asked walking down the hall. We caught her up on everything that London said.

"She told Kim? And Kim didn't mention it!"

"At least she's alive," Viv shrugged.

London's POV

"I don't know how it was in D.C., or how it is in London, but here we have each other's backs. We can help you with the nerves, it's a lot to take in especially at 18."

"That's definitely true" I sigh.

"That's not everything is it?" Abby asks. I look over at the defender and shake my head laughing.

"I have a problem. Mal thinks I should get people to help me with it, but I don't think I should. What would you do?"

"Depends on the problem."

"It's not huge," I lie.

"I guess if I thought I could handle it I would just deal with it. But if it's bigger than you say, I would get help. Your Arsenal teammates, and us, we have your back," Abby says. I nod and think about her words. I can tell she's waiting for me to add to it but I decide against it.

"What's North Carolina like?"

We sat on the bench talking for an hour or so before heading back to the hotel. Mal was pissed but what's new? Something about not answering my phone and leaving alone. Again.

"Abby came."

"That's not the point!"

"I'm 18."

"What's your point? I'm 20."

"I'm a legal adult. You don't need to treat me like a kid."

"London, I care about you! As foreign as that may be I do! So does everyone on this team and it's worrying when we don't know where you are. What if you got hurt?"

"I would have called you" She glares at me and I sigh. "Sorry. I'm sorry, I'll try and tell you where I'm off to but for the record, you are a little clingy. Like a lot."

"I'll back off. But I refuse to lose my best friend because she got kidnapped wandering around some city in Europe being stubborn!"

"Awww am I your best friend? I'll tell Lindsey. Wait, I'm not stubborn!"

"Are you serious! You are so stubborn!"

"As if! You're the stubborn one in this relationship!"

"I am not!" Mal protests.

"Well I'm not!"

"Shut up and go to sleep!" Sam yells from the room over.

"it's only 10:30" I grumble getting my things ready.

"Who thought it was a good idea for us to room together?" Mal asks.

"Hell if I know."

We both got ready for bed and I plugged my phone in before climbing into bed.

"If I wake you up and get punched I'll be pissed," Mal whispers in the dark.

"It happened once."

"Twice."

"Same difference," I roll my eyes.

"Sure."

"Good night Mallory" I smile.

"Good night London."
