Sara's POV

I had gotten to the hospital ten minutes ago and was in the waiting room. Apparently, they had to go into surgery because the dumbass wasn't looking where she was going. Something about cracking open her skull. Honestly how hard did she fall!

Anyway, I was trying to avoid panic (might I add unsuccessfully) by keeping Merel -Jackie's sister- updated on what was happening. In reality, it only made it worse for us both.

Alex's POV

7:30 p.m.

"London is currently being treated at the hospital for a head injury. We will have an update on her either later tonight or tomorrow morning. Her family has been alerted." Jill's words kept running through my head. The poor girl, the baby of the team, was in the hospital. And we had no idea what was happening.

"Is she going to be okay?" Christen asked.

"We don't know yet. This is now a waiting game. Training tomorrow will be postponed but we are still playing so we need to keep that in mind. Tomorrow we are going to the hospital pending London's condition," Jill explained. Everyone sat in shock and worry, we all knew how serious a head injury could be. How easy it was to get a concussion, or split your forehead open, or break your nose. Hell most of that has happened to us, so knowing how severe it could be was daunting.

9:45 p.m.

Kelley and I were back in our room. Kelley explained what happened and now we were trying to figure out how to get updates.

"Call Addison?" Kelley suggests.

"Is she even there?" I ask.

"Worth a shot," She shrugs. I dial Addison and she picks up on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey Addison, it's Alex and Kelley."

"Hi girls."

"Do you happen to be at the hospital?" Kelley asks.

"Ladies, I don't have an update on London."

"Nothing?"

"Nope. And I won't have one until tomorrow so I will let you know then."

"Alright bye," I hang up and sigh.

"She'll be fine right?" I ask

"Hopefully," Kelley responds.

"That's where you lie and say right," I say.

"Noted."

London's POV

I opened my eyes to darkness. I looked around the empty room trying to figure out where I was since it most certainly was not a hotel room. There was a constant beeping that was making my ears ring and my head pound. I sat up and when I moved my arm I discovered the I.V.. So I was in a hospital. I laid back down to make the room stop spinning and tried to relax.

"Elsje?"

"Sara?" My throat was dry so the word came out rough.

"Oh Elsje are you okay ?" I saw Sara come closer to my bed and I grabbed her hand.

"My head hurts."

"You had surgery love," She explains.

"Why? "

"You fell and hit your head remember? "

"No. Why did I fall? "

"I was told you slipped on a water bottle. You managed to fracture your skull and they had to go in and make sure none of the pieces that chipped off cut into your brain."

"Gross. Can we  stop the beeping."

"Let me call a nurse in. And no Elsje, that's your heart monitor."

"It just tells you I'm alive. I could do that. Sara, I'm alive and currently not dying. Though I will die if that stupid heart monitor keeps making my head pound. Might I also add me ears are ringing."

"Anika just listen to what the nurse has to say,"  Sara rolled her eyes at me. Rude.

"Glad to see you're awake Anika. I'm Elizabeth and I am your nurse. I am just going to check your vitals then send for the doctors." I nod and watch her look at the monitor then do some other stuff I didn't pay attention to.

"Your vitals look good Anika."

"Thank you," I honestly could hardly remember English. I remember thank you being similar to the dutch phrase though.

"Sara, do you know English?" I ask once the nurse leaves.

"Some, it's not perfect. I thought you knew English."

"I can't remember. It hurts."

"Okay, let's just talk with the doctors."
I could see her worried expression, she was always bad at hiding her emotions.

"Hello Anika! I am Dr. Brook and this is Dr. Adam. You have a pretty bad concussion and when you fell you fractured you're skull. A few small pieces broke off so we had to go in and remove them.  You seem to be doing very good after surgery. Do you have any questions?"

"Um, language?" I ask. Sara nods encouragingly and smiles.

"We are native Dutch speakers. She can't remember her English," She says.

"Alright, this is most likely caused by your concussion, so as the concussion heals your English should come back to you. We can also get someone to help you practice in the meantime. Can you understand us now?" Doctor Adam asks.

"Little bits."

"Alright, we'll try and find a translator," Doctor Brook says. I nod and they both leave.

"I'm tired."  I say.

"Me too, go to sleep it's 2:30 in the morning," Sara tells me. I nod and close my eyes drifting off.

9:30 a.m.

I may have a concussion, and not a great memory at the time, but I swear Sara was the only one in my room last night. So imagine my suprise when I see a third of the national team sitting around the room or chatting with Sara.

"Glad you're awake, the doctors said them talking to you may help with the language coming back," Sara explains once she sees me awake.

"I was so worried London! Are you okay?" A brunette with hazel eyes asks. Her name is right on the tip of my tounge. Karen? No. Kim? No, though it does sound familiar.

"Kelley?" I ask.

"Yeah, it's me London."

"Okay. I'm okay."

"She um, she doesn't remember a ton of words. English words," Sara tells them all.

"Then how is she communicating?" A blonde asks. She's sitting in the corner with another blonde.

"What did she ask?" I ask Sara.

"How are you communicating." Sara translates. "We are speaking Dutch."

Authors Note:

In the section with Alex's POV it goes back to when they first found out in case it was confusing. Also all of the medical stuff is probably not accurate in the slightest because I have literaly no medical training. Anyway I am going out of town Saturday so I am trying to write a bunch before then. Hope y'all are still enjoying the story! Suggestions are welcome!
