It's a few hours later and Natalie is sitting in the common room.
"How's your first shift been Lewis?" Gabby asks
"It's not over yet but it been great! Better than truck 66" Natalie says
"I know! I worked with them a while back and god they were a bunch of asses" Mouch says
"But you rubbed off an impression on them. They said that you put yourself in dangerous situations when it comes to fires" Herrmann says
"I guess I do, but it's for the victims" Natalie says as she smiles
"Truck 81, Ambulance 61, Single vehicle car accident, 14th street" The intercom says
They all rush out and drive to the scene. When they arrive they can see a car with 2 victims inside. A mother and a daughter who have collided into a wall.
"Gallo! I want you to stabilise that car! Herrmann get the hose lines ready just in case! Mouch I want you to grab a backboard! Stella your gonna help Mouch! And I'll go in there! Let's move people!" Natalie shouts
Natalie slides in the car and checks the victims. Gabby appears at the car door
"The mother has a deep laceration to her head and she could be concussed! Her leg looks cut up badly but I can't quite see! You need to move her carefully as she could have a broken spine!" Natalie says
"Where did you learn all this?" Gabby asks putting a neck collar on the mum
"I did my paramedic training for about 2 years then decided I wanted to be a firefighter" Natalie says carefully putting the victim on a back board
They take the mum and load her into the ambulance. The little girl has some glass on her head but none in her eyes. They slide her out shortly after and Natalie slides out just after her. As she gets out the car goes up in flames and Herrmann sprays it.
"Good work today guys!" Natalie says as she jumps back into the truck
They drive away and back to the firehouse. Natalie walks in
"Your on lunch duty!" Casey shouts
"Great!" Natalie says sarcastically
She heads over to the kitchen and makes spaghetti and meatballs. She also makes homemade garlic bread. She plates it all up and the guys come up and grab some
"Wow! Lewis!" Cruz says shocked
"This is amazing!" Mouch says
"Where did you learn to cook like this?" Gallo asks
"Oh my mum is Italian! And so is my grandmother! Which makes me half Italian! She taught me this recipe a while back!" Natalie says
"Okay your cooking for us more often!" Kelly says smiling
"No problem at all!" Natalie says as she laughs
