Love at First Sight

Chapter 4- A look into the past

It's the next day and everyone is on shift. Natalie has a black eye from where Welch hit her. All of the members of 51 have been thinking about what he said and haven't said a word to Natalie all morning. Well everyone apart from gallo he has been by her side all morning.
"I feel like I have to tell them all!" Natalie says with her hands over her face
"You don't have to tell them anything! It was in the past just like you said!" Gallo says looking at her deep in the eyes
"Your a great friend Gallo! I can't thank you enough!" Natalie says resting her head on Gallos shoulder
"Yeah great friend" Gallo says with all of the happiness disappearing
Gallo is out cleaning the truck when Ritter comes out.
"You okay there?" Ritter asks
"I'm fine!" Gallo says clearly annoyed
"What's up?" Ritter asks as Gallo drops the sponge into the bucket
"She friend zoned me!" Gallo says
"Dude! You've known her for like a week! And she's your Luitenent!" Ritter says
"Look at Dawson and Casey!" Gallo says
"Dawson was a paramedic when she met Casey! What happens if you break up and she leaves you in a fire to burn Huh?" Ritter says
"She wouldn't do that! I met her 5 years ago! Remember that high rise fire when we were candidates!" Gallo asks
"Yeah?" Ritter replies
"She was the Luitenent on truck 66 and she ran in when the building was on the brink of collapsing! She's perfect!" Gallo says sitting down at the front of the truck
"Look! She's your Luitenent man! It's never gonna happen!" Ritter says before he walks away
Natalie is in the bunk room doing paperwork when Gabby appears at the door
"Hey!" Natalie says with a warm smile on her face
"You gonna share the story behind last night" Gabby says sitting down next to Natalie
"Well it was about 2 years ago my mum was caught in a house fire! I was on shift but had an appointment and I responded! I couldn't save her! No matter how hard I tried! When we got back Welch blamed me for setting the fire as he knew me and my mum didn't have a great relationship" Natalie says followed by a long sigh
"Oh god Natalie! I had no idea!" Dawson says with a sympathetic look on her face
"What about Tommy and smith?" Dawson asks
"They died just before I came here. It was another high rise fire! Welch took it pretty badly and took it out on me! So when I saw the opening here I took it!" Natalie says holding back her tears
"No wonder you left! Anyway I'll leave you to it!" Dawson says getting up and walking out

Tomorrow I go back to school full time! Which means that I might not be able to get as many chapters out! I'm so sorry about it! I'll try my hardest to get chapters out!
