NANATILI ako sa kinatatayuan ko dahil pakiramdam ko ay napako na ako rito at hindi makagalaw. She looks so peaceful while her eyes are closed. Mapusyaw ang balat nito at mukhang hindi lumalabas ng cottage. I wonder what's her name?

After loving Samantha, my heart never beat for someone else again. Just this time. Pero ayoko na ng commitment. I don't want to enter in a relationship again and then what? Hurt myself in the end? No, thanks. I'm fine being the guy that I am. Sleep and no strings attached routine.

I was about to take a step backward when she slowly opened her eyes and it fixated on me. Bahagyang nanuyo ang aking lalamunan sa ganda ng mga mata niya. Her eyes are like that of an ash. Mas gumanda pa itong tignan dahil natatamaan ang mga ito ng panghapong araw.

I don't know what to say. I'm loss of words. What would I tell her? That I'm lost and I don't know my way back to our camping site? But that's the truth! Hindi ko nga alam ang lugar na ito e. Sadyang masyado lamang akong naligaw at aksidenteng natagpuan ang fairytale cottage na ito.

"Sino ka?" Her innocent face as she gazes at me made my heart thumped loudly. Pati ang kan'yang boses ay malambot at nakakahalina. She looked like an angel.

I just stared at her with no expression on my face at all. Hindi naman sa nababahag ang buntot ko pero hindi ko lang talaga kasi alam ang maaari kong sabihin.

"Hey. I'm Leighton, I got lost in the forest then I came up here..." I scratched the back of my head as she walked towards me. Bahagya ulit akong napaatras sa sobrang gulat. Bakit siya lumalapit? Fuck.

"Natatakot ka ba?" She blinked.

I let out a harsh breath and slowly shook my head in return. Why do I keep on moving backwards anyway? She's not horrifying for pete's sake!

"No, it's just that— I didn't talk to anyone for a long time other than my best friend," I told her. She smiled at me. She's adorable and cute.

"Ito ang unang beses na may naligaw dito sa bahay namin..." She trailed off.

"Ako nga pala si Monina..."

Monina? Her name suits her. Monina, hmm.

"—Monina Lila..." She added.

"Nice to meet you, Monina Lila." I simply said despite of my throbbing heart. I don't know how to handle such a thing. I've never talked to anyone this way before after breaking my heart.

"Gusto mo bang samahan kita pabalik sa gubat?" anyaya niya.

Bahagya kong binasa ang aking pang-ibabang labi at diretso siyang tinitigan sa mga mata. Wala akong nababakas na takot mula sa mga ito. She's just smiling widely at me and it was as if she's not afraid of me! What if I'm a bad person? Ngingiti pa rin ba siya ng gan'yan kahit may masama na akong balak?

"Aren't you afraid of me?" I asked in a hoarse voice.

Bahagya itong natahimik ngunit agad din namang ngumiti muli sa akin at umiling.

"No. I'm not afraid of you..."

"Why? You don't know me yet," I said.

"Because I just know. Halika na, ihahatid na kita sa gubat." aniya at biglang hinawakan ang mga palad ko dahilan para agad ko itong maiwaksi sa sobrang gulat.

Nanlalaki ang mga mata kong tumingin sa kan'ya. She looked surprise too by my sudden reaction but she still smiled. Why? Why do you keep on smiling at me like you don't have any problem at all?
