No Perspective

Tears began swelling behind Kira's eyes as she pulled her hand out of his in frustration and placed it on flat on her heavy chest. She could feel her heart beating frantically as she tried to steady her breathing.
Spencer kept giving her the same pitiful look that she just wanted to slap off his face. It was a dumb look on him, given what he did. The look of innocence as if he didn't understand what he had done wrong.

Spencer knew deep down that she had a perfectly good reason to hate him right now. Noticing her lightly glossed green eyes that held betrayal, he parted his lips to speak but nothing came out as he just sat there gazing at her apologetically. It was unlike him to not know what to say in this moment. His brain was racking for the right thing to say, but he felt it was best to say nothing. The feeling of guilt was eating away at his nerves and all he wanted to do was apologize and hold her in his arms until this whole situation was over.

Kira dropped her eyes down to the floor where Spencers leg mildly shook with anxiety. She was waiting for him to say something... anything.

His words finally came but he hadn't actually thought out what he would say, he just acted on impulse. "How'd you find out?"

Kira's heart dropped even farther as she heard the words that slid so easily out of his heavy but mobile mouth. It wasn't an apology, like she was hoping for. His words struck her like a dagger, knowing that he would never have told her if she hadn't found out.

She rolled her eyes before glancing over at another happy couple eating their dinner in the opposite corner that happened to be the well lit side of the room. Them not having the slightest clue what was happening here at their booth. They laughed and she profiled their body language that wasn't closed off. It was inviting, they trusted each other. She dipped her head and lightly chuckled under her breath as her hair fell over her face. Quickly she tucked a stand of her silky light brown hair behind her ear as she thought about her and Spencer's line of work. You automatically don't trust anyone, it might as well be in the job description.

People often don't think about the fact that you could only be a fraction of someone's life, but believe you were the most important thing. That's how Kira felt in this moment. How Spencer made her feel like the most important girl in the world; The only girl in the world.

Until tonight. He used her to get information for the team, who she didn't fully trust. She didn't understand how Spencer could make her feel like the one thing he needed most in this world, yet go and break their trust like it was a fragile piece of stained glass.
