"So," Mason speaks up from behind his desk, glancing up at me with a smile "we have your scan today."

I look over my book and my heart skips when I see his happiness. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going, it feels like only yesterday we spent that night together.

I place my book down next to me on the couch and turn fully to Mason, giving him my full attention.

"I know, we get to find out what we are having." I reply "Do you want to know?"

Mason stands up from his desk and walks over to me. He slumps down beside me and puts his arm around me. We barely spend any time where our skin isn't touching.

Ever since my bump began to show, Mason has become even more protective over me and never usually goes far. I think it's also because he knows that he is leaving soon, which is hard for me to even think about.

I hate being away from him for a few hours let alone a few weeks.

"I would love to know what we are having." He says, his voice filled with excitement.

"What are you hoping for?" I ask. Mason looks away in thought for a moment before turning back with a grin.

"I honestly don't mind either way. As long as they are healthy and take after you." He chuckles, leaning closer to peck my lips "Whatever we have, they will be the next in line for the Alpha position."

Oh yeah. I completely forgot about that. Our first born child will eventually become the leader of our pack, when Mason and I decide to step down or die.

I never really thought much about it. I was born into a higher rank family but I had nowhere near the amount of pressure of an Alpha family. I am only Luna because I am mates with Mason.

Mason, however, was born into the position. He'll be a great role model for our children. I already know that he will be an amazing father.

"Me too." I agree, leaning my head on Mason's shoulder. "What time is our appointment?"

Mason lifts his hand to look at his watch before he answers. "In about an hour. We should probably get ready to go. I'm sorry again I dragged you here while I do work, it just helps me focus when you're around."

"I understand Mason, it's alright." I reply looking up at him with a small smile "How is the rogue problem coming on?"

"Well it's an ongoing situation. A few more packs have decided to come to the meeting now. We're hoping to figure out a way to manage it." Mason explains.

I feel a pang of sadness at the second mention of him leaving. Just the thought of me being separated from him for a night sounds awful, let alone a few weeks.

Plus I'll be well into my pregnancy by then. What will I do without him?

I'll be the leader of this pack on my own in his absence. I don't know if I can handle that responsibility. Since our ceremony I've taken on a lot of duties that a Luna should, but not as much as I should.

Mason won't let me take on too much.

I don't blame him I suppose. But I'm not fragile, I can still work. I'm not that far along yet. I mean if I can still put my shoes on, I can easily do my duties as Luna.
