EMMERANE POV

"No, you aren't doing it right. You need to focus."

"And what, pray tell, do you think I have been doing this whole time?"

"Isn't it pretty obvious?" Levi snaps back. "Not focusing."

"You-"

"Enough. I want to get this done with by next century, if you don't mind."

I take a deep breath. Jerk.

Focus, Emmerane. You can do it. Focus.

"You know, giving yourself a mental pep talk isn't gonna help you shift. And, no, I can't read your mind, it's just super obvious."

"Shut up! Do you want me to shift or not?"

Don't smirk, don't smirk, don't smirk-

He smirked.

"Well, course I do, but at this rate, it's not gonna make a difference anyway."

I could stuff his head into a toilet. That'd be fun.

"Shut up."

Sadly, it'd send a whole wolf pack after me.

"Seriously? Shut up? Is that the best you could come up with?"

A whole wolf pack. After me.

"I mean, how much of a nerd are you?"

Wolf pack. After me.

"Seriously, how hard can it be to shift?"

Wolf. Pack. After. Me.

"A werewolf who can't shift is just exceptionally untalented, or exceptionally mentally challenged."

Wolf.

Pack.

"I'm willing to bet that it's a mix of both, though."

Screw the pack.

"You bastard!"

I dragged him by the arm roughly, pulling him towards our dorm. I get many strange looks, but I don't care.

"Hey!" He protests. "What are you doing?!"

"I made a mental promise just now. And I always keep my promises."

I push him into our dorm. The others stare at me but I ignore them.

I head straight for the bathroom.

"Emmerane!" Levi screeched.

I bang on the door. "Hey! Who's in there?!"

"What the hell, Emmerane! This is a boys' bathroom!" Axel.

"Axel! Get out of there now! Or so help me..."

"What's going on?"

Great. The whole gang is here.

"Vani, you might wanna get your camera out for this." I say, then turn to the bathroom door.

"AXEL!" I screech. "GET OUT NOW!"

"Sure," she grins, then turns into a red-brown bat.

I grin, happy for her.

She skips back just as Axel comes out with only a towel wrapped around his waist, water droplets still present on his torso and dripping from his hair.

"Jeez, woman. What was so important you had to interrupt my bath?"

I ignore him, pushing him aside and pulling Levi, who was quietly trying to escape.

He sighs. I smirk. At least he's figured out what's gonna happen next.

"Emmerane," he begins.

Ha. Let me watch him beg for mercy.

"I'm not interested in you."

...

"I mean, I'm attractive and all, but..."

...

Oh, my God.

This guy is so arrogant.

I snort.

...

"What?"

I laugh, and I find myself unable to stop.

"HAHAHAHAHA! OH MY GOSH, Levi? No! Why would I ever think that?"

My stomach hurts from laughing.

Behind me, I can hear the girls' mirth.

Meanwhile, the boys remain ever so very clueless.

Ah, the innocence of the unsuspecting!

But then I decide to have a little bit more fun.

Hehehehehe...

"Oh, Levi..." I purr.

I have to fight the urge to laugh as he looks positively panicked.

I stand on my tiptoes and wrap my arms around his neck. He rears backward. "Emmerane..." he whispers.

I'm sure my eyes are most positively glittering with maliciousness and I'm honestly surprised he doesn't call my bluff.

I place a hand on the back of his head, and, with a sudden twist, turn and shove his head down.

Right into the toilet.

"Got it!" Vani says triumphantly as the girls grin widely.

The boys simply stare at us.

Shock, I suppose.

Levi raises his head slowly.

My eyes widen.

"Oops," I whisper, then turn and run.
