Chap 18

Third person's point of view.

When Kuroo's birthday came around, Minato was pleased when he'd been informed by Jiraiya that he'd found Tsunade, and that after hearing everything about Kuroo wanted to help her. With all the info and everything she would need curtesy of Jiraiya, they returned to the village with a few days to spare before the big party. All Minato had to do now was tell her, so one morning as she was setting Naruto into his seat for breakfast,

Kakashi slumped over tired, and Minato just finishing setting up, sat across from Kuroo. "Kuroo," he called getting her attention, "hmm?" she hummed turning her head in his direction by following his voice and feeling his Chakra, "So your birthday is in a few days and I set something up for you," Kuroo smiled softly, "You didn't have to," she said and he nodded, "I know, but this is something that I wanted to do and I won't take no for an answer," he said, 

Which made her laugh and Naruto giggle, he loved it when Kuroo laughed so when she did he did. "So I had Lady Tsunade return with the help of Jiraiya my former teacher, she's going to help get you your sight back," Kuroo frowned, "But...--" "Now I know you can do everything just fine and with minimal help, but after everything you've done for us, I want you to witness your hard work with your own two eyes," he said cutting her off,

"So will you give me this? Will you let Lady Tsunade help you?" he mused and she let out a soft sob/chuckle, "Y-yes," she said sniffling a bit, Kakashi and Minato smiled. Minato took hold of Kuroo's hand across the table and Kakashi kissed the top of her head. Naruto in her arms laughed and made a grab for Kuroo's face, his toothless and saliva filled grin getting into her cheek as he tried to mimic the cheek kisses she gives him,

His tiny hands held her hair which she didn't even flinch at as he yanked a bit.

When the day of the operation came Kuroo was told what would happen via Tsunade who would be helped by some nurses and her assistant, the whole thing probably took about eight hours and when it was done, Kuroo was brought to recovery and Tsunade retreated into a private room to collect herself, Kakashi with Minato holding Naruto was in the waiting room along Itachi, his parents, Shisui and Sasuke held by Mikoto.

It was about an hour, before the doctor came and told them that they could visit Kuroo, Minato passing off Naruto to Kakashi stayed back to talk with the doctor some more, "So the operation went off without a hitch, and she will need to keep her eyes covered for at least 48 hours, but after that she'll have full function, but with her lineage and the DNA from Lady Tsunade she should still take every precaution." the doctor explained and Minato nodded. "Thank you,"

He finished and then left to catch up with everyone else. In the room, everyone stood around Kuroo everyone was talking softly and laughing slightly at whatever Shisui had said, Naruto and Sasuke both sat in her lap playing with either her hands or her hair which hung over her shoulder in a braid. "Happy Birthday Kuroo," Minato said stepping up to her shoulder and patting her head carefully, which made her smile. As well as everyone else.

Mikoto hugged the girl cautiously while picking up a reaching Sasuke and Fugaku also gave his birthday wishes, Itachi nearly climbed into her bed to sit next to her planning to stay there but Shisui yanked him into a headlock and proceeded to grind his knuckles into the side of Itachi's head, they two of them breaking out into a light play fight, Kakashi took her hand that wasn't keeping Naruto steady and kissed the back of it,

Which made her cheeks turn red as well as the tips of her ears, "You brat," she grumbled but he laughed which made the others chuckle or laugh as well,

When Kuroo was all healed up, she took a few weeks to retrain with her new eyes and the new skills it came with. Minato expected it to take time for her to master her new abilities but like with the two Justus he taught her, she had everything down pat within two months. Making her ready for active duty afterwards. So he gave her something that took longer but wasn't necessarily hard.   

He wanted her to take it easy but not make to job too easy, she would be going with him as part of a select team to have a meeting with some of the other Kages, Kakashi would remain behind on babysitting duty at his place while Kuroo went with Minato and Shisui. Itachi would be busy with Anbu tasks, so while Mikoto and Fugaku were busy he would also look after Sasuke, both children would stay with him at his own place, 

This all seemed like it would be a normal thing, everyone reacclimating to life with Kuroo back in action, but it would soon start going down hill from there. The mystery ninja who had helped the Nine Tails to escape and attack the village returned, disguised in a group of ninjas loyal to Danzo and swept through the Uchihas', killing every single one of them, as a way of sending a message, 

A message that the clan is dangerous and that just because some could control themselves it wouldn't mean that the rest could. These ninjas were able to get through 96% of the clan, they were ill informed and hadn't been told that Sasuke was with Kakashi or that Itachi was out with his Anbu team and that Shisui as well as Kuroo were gone with Minato. In the case of Kuroo they were lucky she wasn't there otherwise they would have failed.

Leaving the bodies for them to find upon the return of Minato, Kuroo and Shisui; it was bad. Because the ones to find Fugaku and Mikoto was Itachi and Kakashi who was confused as to why no one had come to get Sasuke when it was the specified day for his return to his parents. The second Kakashi had seen the blood on the streets of the Uchiha compound he'd gone looking for Itachi, 

The silver-haired male had found the young Heir returning with his team, "Itachi we need to send a message to Kuroo and Minato right away," he gasped out as he rushed to Itachi; Naruto in his carry pack on Kakashi's back, while Sasuke was cradled in his arms against his chest, "What? why?" Itachi mused confusingly, Kakashi pulling Itachi to the side spoke softly, "Someone... someone attacked your clan," he said trying to figure out a way to explain it.

"What?" Itachi snapped nearly startling Sasuke and Naruto but Kakashi gripped his shoulder.

When Minato and his group returned it was two days later, their meeting was cut short as a messenger hawk had been sent with the news, Kuroo, Shisui and Minato being the three fastest ninjas in the Leaf village returned to find Kakashi and Itachi waiting for them. Kuroo was instantly at Itachi's side. Her arms circled him and he hid his face in her chest as he broke down and cried softly. 

She wasn't afraid to cry in the open anymore and was doing it as she held Itachi. Sasuke was held between the pair and sensing the sadness of the two people he sat between also started to cry, Shisui wrapping his arms around them joined in their group hug and his own tears added to theirs. "I sware I'm going to find out who did this," Kuroo promised and Itachi nodded, "I'm going to find out and make them pay for doing this," she added more to herself than to him.
