"I know what you did" The blood running through my body froze when I heard those words

I never thought about how my brothers would react if they ever found out.

"Uh..." I trailed off

There was a cold silence for a few seconds before Evan broke it with a sigh

"Adelynn, listen," he said "You are almost four months through amnesia and you won't remember any of this when you gain your memory back"

If I gain my memory back

"So it would be better for you if don't do anything that you'll regret"

I fiddled with my fingers while nervously staring on the floor because I couldn't think of an answer.

He waited for a reply when he didn't get any he continued after giving a sigh

"Okay, Adelynn I need you to listen carefully" he stated in a deathly calm voice "Darren has his own shit to deal with and you are not making it any easier for him" he continued after a ghastly pause "it would be better for you, him and all of us if you stayed away from him"

At this moment, I was pretty sure he was just finding a nice way to tell me to mind my own business

"If I say something, you reply" the coldness in Evan's voice triggered the living daylight out of me "with words"

"I-I" a lump formed in my throat "am sorry"

"Sorry doesn't matter when the harm is already done"

There was deathly cold silence before Evan broke it "Now, did anything happen that you need to tell me"

Is he talking about the mafia thing or the flashback thing? Should I tell him?

Act like nothing happened, Act like nothing happened

"No" I muttered sheepishly

He looked unsatisfied but continued anyways

"Okay," he said as the man in blue suit, the one who opened the door, passed him a file

He looked through the papers in the file while I sat there nervously.

He directed the man to do something which I didn't understand but the man surely did. The man passed Evan another file before leaving the room. I was thinking of a polite way of asking 'can I please leave' but when I couldn't think of one,  I asked the first thing that came to my mind

"Should-ld- I leave?" I asked, as politely as I could

"There's one more thing we need to talk about"

I nodded as I started remembering if I did anything else to get myself in trouble

"First of all, this isn't a punishment,-" he was interrupted by River entering the room
