can't change what you don't know

i'm jealous

By the end of the holiday they were exhausted but happy, they had made many cherished memories, shared many loving laughs and took millions of pictures. The main thing was the tans they had received, tatums beat them both though since her tan lines were amazing. But now it had come to an end, they were currently sat at the boarding gate waiting to board the plan back to chitown, hailey was sat in between the pair when she noticed how good tatums tan lines actually were, "look at this, I'm jealous" he moved the teenagers hair from her neck to reveal the swimming costume tan lines. Tatum laughed, "who needs fake tan when there's the sun?" She smiled. Jay smiled too, sure enough he tanned quite a bit but no where near as dark as Tatum did, that must've been one thing she inherited from her mother.

                  Suddenly their queue was called up so they grabbed their hand luggage and made their way down the tunnel and onto the plane, Tatum didn't want the window seat this time so she sat in the middle instead. It was an extremely long flight and the trio weren't tired yet so once the plane had taken off they just done whatever there was to do in order to kill the boredom, that included playing noughts and crosses, eye spy, and watching the very limited films on the mini screen in front of them since they couldn't use their phones due to aeroplane mode.  It wasn't long before hailey fell asleep, then jay, leaving Tatum on her lonesome.  She looked over to her left to see everyone on that side asleep then sighed, it's gonna be a long flight...

About 5 hours into the flight, jay and hailey were still asleep, so Tatum grabbed the pen amc flicked the lid off. She'd seen this cool pen trick on tiktok the other week and she wanted to try it, so she began twirling the pencil between her fingers, she started off really badly but then she got the hang of it, and then it came naturally. That kept her entertained for an hour or so before she began to feel sleepy, she let the tiredness win her over as she cleared her food tray and put her pillow on it before leaning forward and using it as a head rest.  About an hour later jay woke up to see hailey sleeping with her head against the window and Tatum asleep against the tray, he laughed to himself and shook his head before checking the time.  There wasn't long left of the flight and it was already dark outside so hopefully the could go straight to bed when they get home.

                 The plane turbulence seemed to wake hailey up but not Tatum, the blonde shot her head up to see jay smiling at her, "morning" he laughed. Hailey rolled her eyes playfully, "I bet you woke up not that long ago" she huffed. Jay just shrugged, "maybe" he smirked but the intercom broke their conversation up. There was a static ringing, "we have arrived at our destination, if you could please raise your trays and buckle your seatbelts, we will be landing shortly. Thank you" the pilot spoke tiredly. Jay looked at hailey and nodded but soon realised that even the pilot hadn't managed to wake his daughter up, "she could sleep through a tornado I'm telling you" he laughed and gently pulled her back so she was now resting on his shoulder. He grabbed the pillow and put it on her knee before hailey bucked the seatbelt over the teenager and pushed the remaining lowered tray up.

Somehow the planes bumpy landing didn't even manage to wake Tatum up but they were now at the point where they were needing to get off the plane so jay had no choice, "c'mon Tate, you gotta wake up" he nudged his shoulder. The kid slowly sat up, her eyes barely even open, and looked around, "what?" She groggily hummed. Hailey laughed, "we're home tink" she passed her the pillow which had fallen down. Tatum looked at everyone leaving the plane, "ohhhhh..." she yawned and stood up. Jay smiled at hailey before the tee grabbed their hand held luggage and got off the plane to go collect their suitcases.

As the partners were stood waiting for the suitcases to come along the conveyor belt jay noticed Tatum literally stood there with her head back and her eyes closed, "that child'll kill me I swear" he burst out laughing. Hailey looked back and laughed, "leave her alone, she's tired" she smirked but she was mainly just smiling at how happy the teenager made her boyfriend, jay finally looked at hailey agains and smiled, "there they are" he nodded. Hailey looked to the conveyor belt and nodded before the pair grabbed their things and put them on the mini trolley thing. Jay and hailey began walking towards the gate exit, "let's see how long it takes her to realise we've actually gone" he laughed and stopped, hailey shook her head and laughed since Tatum was still stood there with her eyes closed.

About 2 minutes later Tatum opened her eyes from her mini standing up nap to see that jay and hailey had gone, she looked around in confusion for a second or two before swivelling on her heels. Her face was furrowed in confusion until she saw the pair stood laughing at the exit, she huffed and put out a pet lip as she slid her way over to them, "I thought you'd left me" she smiled a little as the trio began walking out of the airport. Jay laughed, "we were gonna" he ruffed her hair up. Hailey smiled as Tatum laughed, this child has the dirtiest giggle in the world but it was contagious. The trio found a taxi outside and got inside, they decided to was just cheaper to get a taxi from the house to the airport instead of paying for the airport fees to keep jays truck in the parking lot so they'd need a taxi home too.

               It took them about an hour for the taxi to arrive home, Tatum was fully gone and she was barely able to even function since she was so exhausted.  They got out of the vehicle and unloaded their luggage as the taxi drove off, jay looked at hailey, "you wait here with her and I'll come back out" he smiled at the fact that his daughter was basically still asleep while stood up.  Hailey nodded and watched as jay alarm inside with the suitcases, it only took him a few seconds before he was back outside, "alright then..." he groaned and picked Tatum up as she wrapped herself around his neck.  Hailey smiled and followed the pair inside, making sure to close the door behind them, it was nice to be home even though the vacation was well needed.  Jay easily made his way upstairs with his teenage daughter and carefully placed her on her own bed before pulling the covers over her, "night tink" he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, "night..." Tatum managed to mumble out.

                 Hailey and jay left the suitcases downstairs for tonight and locked up before wandering upstairs themselves and climbing into bed, "well that was nice" hailey smiled and snuggled up to her boyfriend.  Jay smiled and nodded, "it was" he held her close.  The pair dozed off into a peaceful sleep, just thankful they still had one more day off before going back to work, meaning they'd have to drag Tatum with them.
