My eyes were barely staying open as I walked to school with my best friend Cho. Today was my first day at Karasuno high, I was feeling the usual emotions that you feel when school starts again. Excited, nervous and... well, really just they two emotions. I was still living in my spring holidays, not that I did much, I just slept most days. Anyway I'm getting off track, Karasuno high, an elite, prestigious, glorious school... no, I'm joking it was actually pretty easy to get into, that's why I applied.

"What's your home room class again?" Cho asked me. Me and her have been best friends since we were seven years old.
"A and your C right?" I said while yawning
"Yeah, sucks we won't be in any classes together," Cho said while looking down at her phone. Karasuno is quite different from other schools as instead of teachers switching classrooms the students switch and sometimes classes can be with other students that aren't in your homeroom, although that's pretty rare. (I know this isnt actually true in Japan but I wanted to write it this way for the plot, sorry)
"I know but we live pretty close together so we can still walk to school together! we also have lunch," I said enthusiastically
"Yeah, you're right. Plus, we'll find new friends." She typed away on her phone not really paying attention
"Yeah... new friends," I said trying to sound optimistic but nerves and worry swarmed around in my stomach
making new friends will be easy right? And plus even if I don't make new friends I'll still have Cho... Right? (Italics are her thoughts)
"Do you think we'll see anyone from middle school?" I asked hopeful. Although Cho was really my only friend it would still be nice to have people that I knew in my class
"Probably, I think most of them applied for this school."
"That's good, I hope some of them are in my homeroom so I can see some familiar faces." I yawned and stretched trying to wake myself up
"Meh," she replied with an unfazed expression and her eyes glued to her phone
We walked in silence for a few minutes, the silence made me more tired. I NEEDED SOME ACTION. "Do you know if we will be at the school soon?"
"Yeah, we aren't far away" she mumbled still looking down at her phone
"Okay good! What shall we do when we get there? We're pretty early!" I asked excited. I had never been so early to school but because it was my first day I was REALLY nervous so I barely slept. Plus Cho would never risk being late to school.
