Cho pov:

"Every villain is a hero in his or her story" this quote really resonates with me for some reason. I'm not saying I'm a hero but I'm certainly not the villain of my story, you know who is? Y/n. Which is quite funny since I'm the villain in her story. I did choose to be the villain though, unlike her.

*About two weeks ago*
(Don't worry too much about remembering anything, nothing is really mentioned from previous chapters)

Sometimes I like to pretend I have Y/n's life, it's so pathetic. But Y/n has such a perfect life, she has a mom who loves her, who is always on her side, who never leaves her alone and cares for her. She has a stepdad who CHOSE to parent her, he chose to be in her life AND she has a sibling so she will never know what the feeling of loneliness is like. She has nothing to be sad about and she knows that cause she's always smiling. It annoys me, why does SHE deserve to have such a perfect life? Maybe that's how my resentment for her started.

"You ever just feel like a jigsaw piece that's lost?" Y/n asked me as she lay on my bed with her head dangling from it

"Do you feel like that?" I asked as a small laugh escaped

"Huh? No, of course not" she said as she sat up and looked at me with her red face, she touched her head and squeezed her eyes shut, showing that the blood had rushed to her head and given her a headache

"Good because why would YOU feel like that?" I asked as I flipped through my book

"Yeah... your right," she said quietly as she sighed and switched channels on my TV

My mom never approved of Y/n, she thought that Y/n held me back from being popular, I used to defend Y/n but my mom's words itched away at me and eventually, I saw Y/n as someone who did hold me back. Especially after this summer when she didn't reply to any of my texts

"Ugh, Y/n isn't replying to any of my texts," I said frustrated as I put my phone down on the table. My mom surprisingly looked up from her phone and raised an eyebrow

"You're letting her do that to you? Pathetic," my mom said with a scoff as she looked down at her phone again

"I'm not letting her," I said defensively

"Don't be desperate Cho, be better than her," she said as she typed away on her phone "me and your father are going away on that holiday retreat tonight so you'll have to feed yourself for the next few days," she said as she packed her bag for work

"Ok," I said as I ate my toast

"Bye, text me if an emergency happens," she said as she waved and walked out the door
