A returning Echo

Chapter One

"General Skywalker, how lovely to be working with you on official business," you stated jokingly as you entered the room. He looked up from the holomap and smirked at you.

"General Jinn, how exciting to see you again."
You walked over and you and Anakin did you silly little handshake that Padmé always rolled her eyes at.

"Captain Rex," you nodded to the clone, who grinned back in response.

"Alright, now that we're all here, let's go over the plan," Obi Wan spoke, turning back to the holomap.

While he explained the course of action, you slowly moved over to stand by Rex. He didn't seem to notice, or pretended not to at least. You quickly glanced around to see if anyone was watching before you started to poke Rex in the side. He gave you a raised eyebrow and the corner of his mouth twitched and you could see he was trying to fight back a smile. You looked around before doing it again, this time hitting the spot you wanted. His body jerked away in a weird movement as he struggled to keep in a laugh. You knew exactly how to find anyone's ticklish spot, and had quickly found his.

"General Jinn, would you mind paying attention to the mission?" Obi Wan asked, annoyed.

"Of course, my apologies Master Kenobi," you said in an almost mocking way, causing Anakin to cough in an attempt cover up his laugh. Obi Wan glared at you for a second before sighing and going back to talking.

After a minute or so, you decided to slowly creep over to Anakin. You could see his mouth twitch as he saw your slow approach, knowing that you were again up to something.

Before you could act out your plan, however, Obi Wan said, "y/n, if you do not focus, this mission is at risk of failing. Do you even have any idea of what I've been saying this entire time?"

"Of course I do," you replied, pretending to be offended by his comment.

"Pray do tell," he then responded. You smirked at him before correctly relaying everything he had said back to him, proving that you had been listening. He huffed in annoyance before dismissing everyone to leave for the mission.

"Obi Wan's in a mood today," you stated, walking beside Anakin and Rex.

"Ehh, he just hasn't been able to beat Cody in dejarik, and it's really wearing down his confidence," Anakin joked. You giggled before turning your attention to the two clones in front of you.

The one closer to you had nice facial hair and a tattoo of a 5 on the side of his temple. The other one looked like a clone who had not done anything special to his appearance, but he immediately caught your eye. You met his gaze and for a brief second, you swore you felt something through the force. You saw on his face that he had felt something too, but he quickly looked towards his general.

"General Skywalker," the closest one saluted.

"Fives, Echo, I'd like you to meet General Jinn, she will be joining us for our mission as her battalion is currently on a mission with General Daawa." The two clones looked at you, nodding in response.

"Pleasure meeting you, General Jinn," Fives said while extending his hand. You smiled in response and took it before saying, "please, call me y/n, I hate formal titles."

"Whatever you say, y/n."

"Come on, ships about to depart. I'll explain the mission further when we're on board," Anakin said, leading the group onto the gunship.

You all stood around a holomap that Anakin was holding.

"Fives, Echo, you will be working directly with y/n in a trio that will head off from the rest of the group and sneak around here to flank the enemy. We'll most likely need you to give us some cover fire as we make our way to the side where the objective is. You think you can do that?"
