Just a warning, there will be mentions of others drinking and others being drunk. I will put warnings before and after, in case anyone is uncomfortable and wants to skip reading those specific parts.
There will also be a NSFW part that will also have warnings before and after.

By the time your six weeks of rest was up, you were beyond ready to rejoin the war effort. After having spent most of your time training the younglings, you were eager to see some real action, and beyond ready to get off planet.

"Well, everything appears to be fully healed and normal," Aid said after he felt over your ribs. You sat up excitedly, accidentally hitting your head on the exam light in the process.

"Great! Does that mean you'll allow me to go back to fighting now?" you asked as you rubbed the now sore spot on your head.

"Yes, but be careful still. I don't want to have to go on another break like this."

"You didn't have to stay behind. You and the others could still have been in battles."

"Yeah, I could have gone off and what? And let someone else take care of my general? Possibly someone from the 501st? Not in a million years," he said, folding his arms over his chest. You rolled your eyes playfully at him before jumping off the exam table.

"I'm wondering," you started, walking over to the side of the room, "why didn't you ever use those scanning machines to check my bones?"

"To be honest, as a field medic, I never learned how to use them," he said while shrugging. "Better to be safe and stick with what I know. Plus, with your weird off and on sickness, I didn't want to risk triggering it and have you get sick on me. And I also like to be able to feel the injuries instead of just seeing them on a screen. It gives me a better understanding of them."

"Shouldn't we at least get one just in case?"

"General Jinn, are you saying you don't trust my methods?" Aid teased, and you shook your head.

"No, I just want to be certain, you know?"

"Trust me, you're definitely healed. I know a fully healed bone when I feel one. Besides, we've all waited long enough to get back out there."

"You know, I could have saved us a lot of time, and had us back in battle sooner, if you would have just let me have someone force heal me," you pointed out to Aid.

"Yes, but there's always a risk with that. Bones could be set wrong and then we'd have to surgically break them to set them right. Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

"I know that, I'm not saying you don't, I just think there were better options," you replied while shrugging.

"What? You don't think my methods are good enough for your fancy little Jedi bones?" he teased, poking his finger between your ribs where they had broken. You tensed up, expecting a jolt of pain that never came. You grinned widely at him and he smiled back.

"I'm guessing there was no pain?"

"Nope! All healed! Thanks to the best medic there is," you said, pulling him into a hug.

"Anything for my general," he responded, squeezing you before pulling back. "Now, let's go get the rest of the boys and head out to 79's. We're celebrating your recovery and our battalion's return to the fight!" You laughed at his enthusiasm as he tossed his medical gloves in the trash as you both left the room. He practically drug you to the barracks, excitement oozing off of him through the force.

"Hey boys, guess what?" Aid said when you guys walked into the 17th's barracks. They all perked up, looking at the medic as he stood smugly in the room.
