Tw: mention of funerals

The drive was mellow, Ollie had seemed very neutral about todays events. Her austere mood only worried me more as the day went on.

"Molly?" Tommy spoke,

"hmm?"

"can I ask something?"

"anything my darling" she kept her eyes on the road,

"I only met your parents once..."

"thankfully" Ollie murmured,

"what were they like...to you at least?" he asked,
She paused, "like individually?"

"yeah—you don't have to answer if you don't want to—"

"no its fine" she grinned, almost happy to reminisce, "My mom was very paranoid all the time, she liked everything to be prim and proper, hence my perfectionism and crave of having people be proud of me—she was a paralegal assistant—I barely know what that means, she was the one always at work" Ollie explained simply.

"My Dad wrote screenplays and worked in cinematography, he was more relaxed and would be home a lot—but he was a yes man, would always just listen to whatever Mom said—which was quite unfortunate" she chuckled, "poor man never got to speak his mind"

"is that why you've watched a bunch of movies?" Alex perked up,

"you name a movie, I've watched it" she nodded, "he'd always point out little things in film that no one else would notice—I guess that's why im quite observant"

"Interesting" Tommy nodded, satisfied with her answer.

"You know how to drive right?" Ollie turned to him,

"what?—I mean yeah—"

"ok so at this light im gonna stop, and we're gonna get out of the car and switch seats" she grinned,

"Ollie what are you doing?" I raised an eyebrow,

"letting Tommy drive in the U. S of A" she enunciated,

"I don't think that's a good idea—"

"Ready Tommy?" she ignored my worries,

"wait what am I doing?" he confused.

"we're switching seats at this light" she explained,

"oh—ok" Tommy excepted his fate rather quickly, knowing Ollie wouldn't give up her idea.

"what is happening?" Alex turned to me,

"Ollie doing an Ollie thing" I sighed, shaking my head as she quickly hopped out of the car, Tommy following along, passersby watched with confused expressions.

"im scared" Alex widened his eyes,

"what do i do?!" Tommy asked, putting his hands on the wheel.

"Tommy use some common sense, you're at the wheel, now drive"

"IVE NEVER DRIVED IN AMERICA"

"this is a great place to start!"

"IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION?"

"yeah guys don't worry this is totally legal" Alex shrugged sarcastically.

"im going to cry" Tommy deadpanned, "Molly what have you done"

"drivers ed" Ollie laughed, "you're actually doing really good!"

"WHAT IF I ACTUALLY FALL OFF A CLIFF?"
