"Happy birthday dad" Kamryn and I walk in my parents house "oh sweetie thank you" he says and hugs us as my mom walks in from the kitchen "mom it smells good" I say as I can smell the food cooking from the kitchen "I know right"
I hear and see my brother come from around the corner "Demetrius" I say and hug my older brother "I haven't seen you in like 2 months" I smile and break apart "to long" he says . He picks Kamryn up "uncle d" she hugs him "hey Kam Kam" he says "been good?" He says "yeah , I have no more school" she says "I know you on summer vacation girl" he says "Desiree honey come here"
I walk into the kitchen and over to my mom. "Yes" I ask "can you get the chicken out the oven please" she says as she cuts some things up "yeah" I say and I grab the potholders then grab the chicken "looks amazing" I say "thank you now just place it next to the bowl of the vegetables" I do what she told me to do. "Anything else" I ask "no that's it"
(1 hour later) we sit down as the food just got done "ou mommy it's really hot" Kamryn burns her mouth from taking a bite of the mashed potatoes "well yeah Kammy it just got done" I tell her as I start cutting her chicken up "blow on it and take little bites" I say "so Desiree how you been" my brother ask "I been really good , everything is great" I say "that's good" he says "miss Kamryn how are you" he smiles at her and she looks up
"I been good , I went to a concert" she says "oh really who? Lemme guess ....... Prettymuch" he says and her face lights up. "Yes and now they are mommy's friends" I look at her "her friends" my mom chuckles "because Edwin and mommy like each other" she says "Kamryn" I whisper "what is she talking about" my dad ask "I don't know"
I try to brush it off "well I mean , what? Are you dating one of those Prettymuch people" my dad says . So basically my father feels like no man should be a father figure or anywhere near that for Kamryn. My dad thinks if the dad isn't going to take care of Kamryn then no other guy should act like a father towards her. He doesn't like the fact of having another guy that's not her dad be in her life.
"Dad" I say "are you?" He ask "it's not like that" I say "what is it" he says "Edwin from Prettymuch but we aren't dating , at least not yet" I whisper that part "So your gonna have another man take care of your daughter" he ask "dad why does this stuff bother you so much" I ask "Kamryn is not his daughter" he says "I get that i do , but am I not allowed to move on" I ask and he shakes his head
"Kamryn comes first" he tells me "of course , I know that , but if I wanna move on and be with someone then i can" I say "they get along , he likes her and she likes him" I add "So your gonna date this pop star , going on tours , being chased by so many other girls , he's gonna head up breaking your heart" he states "Dad you don't even know him , I'm allowed to date whoever I went , and I know he's good with Kamryn" I tell him "It doesn't matter , Kamryn is not his daughter and he will not treat as if she was" he gets up and walks out
I sigh and look at Kam . "Honey I'm sorry about that" my mom says to me "I figured this will happen when he found out" I nod "ay yo , I support your decision" my brother says and I chuckle "thanks" I smile "but I think Kamryn and I are gonna get going" I say "tell dad I said happy birthday and his present is on the little brown table"
I pick Kamryn up and my purse "Desiree are you sure" my mom ask "yeah it's all good , we will be back soon" I say and she nods .
(Home) we walk in the house "mommy now what do we do" she ask "well I'm going to call Edwin and I think he's gonna sleepover" I say and she smiles "he's gonna sleepover?" She questions "yeah I think so" I pull my phone out as Kamryn walks upstairs to her bedroom. I click on Edwins contact and it's rings only once before I hear his voice
"Hello" he says "hi Edwin" I speak into the phone "hey Desiree" he says "I left my parents house early so you can come over now" I say . It's already 6pm so it's not that early. "Okay , I'll be down in about a hour or so" he says "see you soon then"
(A hour later) "Mommy look" Kamryn says as we sit in her room and she shows me the picture she made "that's a lot of glitter" I smile "I like it" she says "me too" I agree as I hear a knock from downstairs "that's probably Edwin" I say and stand up as she follows me downstairs.
I open the door to see him smiling "hi" I say "hey" he kisses my lips and my eyes widened cause Kamryn is right behind me "eww" Kamryn giggles and Edwin looks at her "oh sorry" he whispers and I chuckle before letting him in . "You are sleeping over" Kamryn says to him "I am" he says .
He sets the bag he walked in with down .
"Look what I made my mommy" she shows him that glitter picture "wow it looks amazing" he says and I smile "thank you" she says as he looks at me "how was your day" he ask and I sigh "not so good" I say "why" he ask "we can talk later" I say and he nods before Kamryn comes over with her babydoll "Edwin look" she holds it up
"What's her name" he ask "Julie" she says "she's Cute" he says "here hold her , I'll go get her bottle" she says and hands the babydoll to Edwin before walking upstairs. Edwin holds the babydoll likes it's real and I chuckle "what?" He smiles "oh nothing" I say "she told me to hold the doll" he says
"You are literally holding it like it's real" I say "I gotta hold Julie right" he says and I giggle . "Here Edwin" Kamryn hands him the babydoll bottle and he pretend feeds the doll "yep Shes eating it" he says "I have a bed for her too" she says "she has the whole babydoll set , like everything you would need for a real baby but for a babydoll" I tell him
"Come play baby dolls with me" she ask Edwin and he looks at her "please" she begs and he nods while smiling "okay come on" he says "I'll be down here" I say "we will be upstairs with Julie" he says and I laugh before they walk upstairs to Kammy's room
(Edwin) "Edwin do you want the baby with the purple flower dress or the baby with the pink dots" Kamryn ask "the purple one" I reply and she hands me it "what is your baby name" she ask "umm Elle" he says "the babies are hungry, you need to feed her" she says and I nod . I'm being bossed around by a 5 year old mhm. "What does she need to eat" I ask "baby milk duh" she says wit a bit of sass "oh okay my bad" I grab the fake bottle
All of sudden her babydoll starts crying , like legit her babydoll is crying "these things can cry" I say "Edwin you made her cry" she says "sorry?" I question "gimme" she takes the baby and fake feeds it some fake baby food "did she just eat it" I ask
"It's a babydoll alive doll" she says "your mom get you that" I ask and she nods "she got me all of my babydolls" she smiles which makes me smile
"Okay Edwin now you gotta change her diaper" she says and my eyes widened "here do it" she says
"I mean I'll ........ try"
