this is so heavily inspired by -marvabell- and her amazing new oneshot that was so cute i had to write something kinda like it. thank you for letting me rip off your idea <3

Whenever Lily Evans was upset, she wrote it down. When her sister was bullying her, when her parents were fighting, when a teacher was being rude, she wrote down how she felt.

What made her upset today was a frequent stressor. One that she avoided ever writing about.

The existence of James Potter. And the existence of her crush on him.

She never wrote about him because she didn't want to admit that she actually liked him. Denial had become comfortable. Nothing was set in stone if she didn't say it.

Lily knew deep down that she liked him, and just wanted to rationalize why. Why fall for a toe rag?

So for the first time, Lily wrote about her infuriating infatuation with James. Say that 10 times fast.

Reasons why James Potter is not all bad.

1. He is best friends with Remus, and Remus only attracts good people
2. He doesn't bully people anymore
3. His parents are really fucking nice
4. He seems to have matured
5. He seems to be less annoying
6. He has more actual conversations with me than constant asking me out oh g-d what if he doesn't like me?
7. He is kinda good at school, and he works hard
8. The man cares, a lot, about things that are important to him
9. He is sort of... a little bit... attractive
10. Okay he's really attractive
11. Stupidly attractive
12. He is really good at quidditch
13. He is really attractive when he plays quidditch
14. Euphemina and Fleamont, again
15. He loves kids
16. He's good with kids
17. He loves animals
18. He's a dog person. Very important
19. He's actually really polite and has impeccable table manners
20. Mom would like that about him
21. Dad would like how much he likes talking about muggle sports
22. Oh lord why am I thinking about him meeting my parents
23. He can cook damnit
24. He can sing? How
25. His smile makes me smile
26. His laugh makes me laugh
27. He's just so good
28. I really like him
29. Oh shit
30. I really like him.

That was enough to thoroughly freak Lily out. Her writing was stream of consciousness, and she didn't realize what she had written until after she had written it. After coming to the realization of her feelings, only two thoughts crossed her mind:

1. What the fuck do I do with written proof I like Potter?
2. Where's Remus?

She folded the paper and shoved it in her pocket. Remus was the only friend she could confide in without a stream of "I told you so"'s Well, fewer than most others.

Making sure she hadn't left her list in the dorm, Lily ran down the staircase and out of the common room.

"What's the rush?" Lily heard someone speaking over her shoulder.

"Just who I was looking for." She smiled up at Remus, who was leaning on the wall near the common room.

"What's up?" He asked.

Instead of answering his question there, she grabbed his arm and ran to a nearby broom closet.

"Lily, you know I love you and I'm very flattered, but I am in a very happy relationship, with a guy." Remus joked. Broom closets are the most popular make out (and definitely more) spots in the entire school.

"Shut up," She rolled her eyes, "I have something important I need to talk to you about."

"Yeah?"

"This is honestly kind of embarrassing, but you're the only one I can trust with this information." Lily reached into her pocket and grabbed the list. She gave it to Remus, blushing. Admitting her crush on James, a jock, marauder, and occasional asshole was incredibly embarrassing to her.

James sat on his bed. He had to write down his thoughts.
Earlier that day, he went on his first date in 5 years in an attempt to get over Lily. The girl was very nice and pretty and smart and a good kisser but being with her and kissing her, he felt nothing for her. There were times when he imagined she was Lily. He needed to get over her. There was no way she was ever going to like him back. So, he decided to write out his feelings and then lock them away. Well, that was his original plan.

1. Her smile lights up a room
2. She's so annoyingly smart
3. She is quick witted and keeps me on my toes
4. Despite what she says, she knows a lot about quidditch (and I know she likes it)
5. Her freckles are so cute wtf
6. She's a dog person
7. My friends like her, a plus
8. She is gorgeous
9. That's the least amazing thing about her
10. She helps first years find their classes, even when she wasn't a prefect, even when it made her late
11. She got detention for breaking the nose of a kid who made fun of Remus. Def the moment I fell in love
12. She's so good at planning harmless pranks
13. A little alcohol and she's a dancing queen
14. Even stone cold sober, she sometimes dances, and her smile as she does so is my favorite thing
15. Our kids would be so damn cute. Seriously.
16. My parents love her
17. She's really polite
18. She's clumsy in a funny way
19. She's fucking funny
20. Her handwriting is impeccable
21. Her taste in clothes is really good
22. She would pick the most gorgeous wedding dress
23. Our wedding would be so fun
24. Merlin why am I imagining out wedding she doesn't like me
25. She can rap like no other let me tell you
26. She is so beautiful inside and out i can't
27. She's loyal to her friends

By the time he finished writing, it was dinner time. James left his list and went down to the dining hall to eat with his friends, trying his best to get Lily out of his head. It never works. She's always there.

Remus ran up to the dorm quickly to change his sweater.

Walking over to his bed, James's list caught his eye. He read it quickly, curious what list James had made Lily, having already read the list made my Lily for James.

He finished reading the list.

And began plotting how he was going to get them together.

hey squad here's a cute little oneshot with no purpose other than being fun to write. I know they didn't get together in this but i didn't really know how to do that so I ended it there. I hope fly guys liked this. It was cute little fluff which I love to write more than all others. ANYWAY, please give me oneshot ideas if you have any. I'd love to write them.
