"Nngh...it's so dark...am I in the afterlife?" murmured [Name] as she rubbed her eye with her hand.

When she landed her hand on something soft, [Name] paused and held her breath. She slowly opened her [eye color] eyes and saw the bright morning rays of light. If she was able to activate her senses of sight and touch, did it mean that she was...alive?

Immediately sensing that something was wrong, [Name] quickly sat up and gasped for fresh air. Why was she alive? How was it even possible?

[Name] ran her fingers through her hair in confusion and then placed her hand against her forehead. She continued to inhale more oxygen through her nose, and she tried to recollect her thoughts and memories. Had she really survived from that 300 feet fall?

“Impossible,” she thought as she stared at her free hand and looked at it in horror.

Izuna quietly stirred from his sleep, and noticed that a trembling [Name] was up. Surprised by this, he got up and reached out to touch a few strands of her glossy hair, startling her in the process.

"I-Izuna? Are you dead too? Do you know where we are?" she asked nervously with fear in her eyes.

Izuna chuckled softly and shook his head in response. "I'm not dead, and neither are you. We are currently in our room, if you haven't noticed," he said with a grin.

[Name] stared at him in bewilderment and gripped her silky lavender nightgown. "How is it that I am alive...? I should have died when I slipped away from your grip..."

The gleam in Izuna's eyes disappeared, and was replaced by dimness instead. "It's a pretty long story..."

"Tell me, I want to know how I'm alive. I could not have survived that deep fall, I remember losing consciousness right after I landed."

Izuna scratched the back of his head and sighed. "Fine, but be prepared for what I am about to tell you..."

After Izuna explained the whole story with full details to [Name], her heart suddenly felt heavy. It was swelling with remorse and sadness, and it made her chest ache with pain.

"Tsubaki sacrificed her life for me...? Why? Why would she do that? She was so young and she had a full life ahead of her!" cried [Name] as tears started to splurge from her eyes.

Izuna gently wrapped his arms around [Name] and held her closely to him. "I know, but she did it for you. Her sacrifice wasn't in vain, [Name]. You should at least respect her decision and make sure that your life won't go to waste."

[Name] felt herself stiffening in Izuna's hug and nothing but a slight croak came out of her mouth. She was alive because of the self-sacrifice of her own friend. Izuna kissed the top of [Name]'s forehead and held her while she buried her face into his chest and cried in his arms.

"There will be funerals held today for the people who died on the battlefield. Tsubaki is going to have one with honors, so let's get dressed." he said as he he wiped away her tears with his thumb

[Name] only nodded silently in response. Tsubaki's funeral would be the perfect time to say her goodbyes properly.

[Name] wore a simple black dress with her hair down for the occasion. In her hands, she held a bouquet of beautiful pink carnations, and she stood next to Izuna among the crowd of mourning Uchiha clan members. Madara was at the front of the crowd and turned to give his speech to them.

"Today, we mourn for the shinobi and kunoichi who fought bravely in the battlefields yesterday. However, there is one particular kunoichi that made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield, and she gave up her life to save not one, but two lives. Please pay your respects to Tsubaki Uchiha, an honorable kunoichi who sacrificed her own life to save [Name] Uchiha, my younger brother's wife. She will forever be remembered for her self-sacrifice."
