First Person POV

After leaving the castle, Meridan, Eleanor, and I head out to the forest.

Meidan starts talking allowed, "Where are these wisps? Come out wisps. Come on out! Lead me to the witch's cottage! I'm here. Fine, don't come out now that my mom's watching!"

Eleanor looks at Meridan questioningly before looking to me and raising where her eyebrow would be.

I shrug slightly before looking back to Meridan.

"I was standing right here, and the wisp appeared right there! Then a whole trail of them led (Y/N) and I off into the forest," Meridian said to try to prove to his mother that he wasn't lying.

Eleanor turned and started walking off into the forest.

"Does she think that I just happened upon a witch's cottage?" Meridian asks me.

I shrug again, "I mean, I would've thought you did if I hadn't seen it for myself."

He two catch up to Eleanor and continue through the forest until Meridan and I start to recognize our surroundings.

"Oh, mom! I know this place. The witch's cottage is this way! Come on! Hurry!" Meridian says as he rushes on ahead of us.

I sigh, "This boy of yours is gonna get us into a load of trouble."

Eleanor nods in agreement as we catch up to Meridan, the witch's cottage in front of us.

"I can't believe it! I found it!" He opens the cottage door, but finds the cottage completely empty.

"No! She was here! No, really! She was just here! Oh, wait!" He steps out of the house, snaps his finger like the witch had done before, and goes back to open the cottage door. It was still empty inside, "No!"

He keeps shutting and opening the cottage door, nothing changes, "No! No! No!"

During all the commotion caused by Meridan opening and closing the door to the witch's cottage, Meridan accidently sets off a Rube Goldberg machine which brings up the witch's cauldron from the ground. A ghostly image of the witch appears above it.

"Welcome to the Crafty Carver, home of bear carvings and novelties. I am completely out of stock at this time, but if you'd like to inquire about a portrait or wedding cake toppers, pour vial one into the cauldron. If you'd like a bedouin garlic, vial two. If you're that red-haired lad and his friend, vial three," the witch says.

Meridan quickly pours the contents of vial three into the cauldron as (Y/N) and Eleanor watch from behind.

"Prince, I'm off to the Wickerman's festival in Stoneleigh. I won't be back till spring. There's one bit I forgot to tell you about the spell. By the second sunrise, your spell will be permanent, unless you remember these words; 'Fate be changed, look inside.  Mend the bond torn by pride,'" the witch states.

Meridan grew extremely confused, "Fate be changed? Mend the bond? What does that mean?"

The witch says again, "One more time. 'Fate be changed, look inside.  Mend the bond torn by pride.' That's it! Ta-ta! Oh, and thank you for shopping at the Crafty Carver!" Then the witch's image disappears.

"No! No! Where did you go!" Meridan starts to panic and poors in more of vial three.

The same message starts to replay over again. In Meridan's panic, he starts pouring all the vials into the cauldron. The ghostly face of the witch starts switching back and forth between the messages, going into a colorful, chaotic frenzy. I realize immediately what the caldron is about to do. I reach forward, grabbing onto Meridan's arm as I pull him out of the cottage as the caldron explodes and the cottage disappears behind us.
