Wanda stared at the people in front of her, straining to hear what they were saying. They were talking in quiet concerned tones, their eyes glancing at her every so often. She knew them, they were the avengers... they were her family... but things weren't right.

Trying to move her hands, Wanda realised they were cuffed behind her, this was a familiar feeling, she couldn't recall the exact details but Wanda knew that the last time she'd been held in a cell it had been bad.

"Nat" Wanda's voice cracked as she called out for her friend.

They all stopped talking and spun around to look at Wanda. Nat offered her a small smile, stepping forward and coming to kneel down in front of the chair Wanda was sat on.

"Hey, we're sorry about this Wanda. It's just some precautions until we figure out what HYDRA did to you. Do you remember what happened last night?" Nat asked studying her friend closely, trying to spot any signs of the Wanda they'd encountered last night coming out.

Wanda frowned, casting her mind back, fighting through the fog that clouded her mind. She got flashes of the hanger, Lexa, the mission, all the fighting.... Y/N... she had been there. Wanda's eyes shot open and she scanned the room, realising that everyone except Y/N was there.

"Where is Y/N?" Wanda asked before another memory flooded back.

She had attacked Y/N, she had hurt her when all Y/N had been trying to do was help.

Tears filled Wanda's eyes at the realisation that she had not only attacked the team, she had also attacked the woman she loved, who had been there to help her.

"Wanda calm down, okay. We know that you weren't yourself, but we need you to tell us what they did to you so that we can try and fix it" Nat explained, glancing back at the others who all shared the same concerned expression.

"Why is Y/N not here? Did I hurt her?" Wanda looked at Nat trying to fight back the tears that threatened to fall.

Nat sighed, "Y/N isn't here. They took her, it was a trap and we walked right into it."

Wanda processed what Nat said and her breath caught and the tears began to roll slowly down her cheeks. She had never thought her heart could hurt the way it did in that moment, knowing that Y/N was gone and it was all her fault.

"L-lexa... she did this... to me... to us..." Wanda stammered.

"We know but what we don't know is why. Do you remember anything at all from the last two months?" Steve spoke this time, coming to stand beside Nat.

"They never said why, they just told me the objective and that I couldn't fail." Wanda wished she could remember more but her memories were so scrambled she wasn't sure what was real anymore. "Lexa kept saying that Y/N was they key but she never said for what."

Nat placed a hand gently on Wanda's leg trying to reassure her friend, knowing all to well what it was like to have your mind manipulated.

"It sounds like they've up'd their mind control game. I'd heard rumours of the experiments but I didn't think they'd been successful" Bucky frowned "Check Wanda's neck."

Steve looked back at his best friend but nodded and stepped behind the chair, moving Wanda's hair and raising a brow as he saw the small silver disc.

"Stark" Steve gestured for him to come over.

Tony moved away from the wall he was leaning on, pulled out of his thoughts at Steve's request. He was carrying the guilt of having allowed Y/N out into the field, Tony had thought she was ready and now they'd rescued one member only to lose another.
