I rolled the name around in my brain as if trying to reinstate a memory that never existed. If what skater du-Cody was true, I should have had my memory back by now. It had been a few days, which mostly consisted of me watching tv hoping for something that would remind me of- well, of anything. Cody told me about the whole big band situation, which should have at least given me a slight push towards remembering? But no, of course, nothing. I kept thinking though- maybe if I saw them in real life I would? I was willing to try anything.

It didn't feel any more right in my head  than Stella did.

How does one contact One Direction, a famous boy band with many MANY fangirls. I just wanted them to know I was at least okay. Surprisingly, nothing had shown up in the news about me yet. I assumed they were trying to find me without the extra struggle of parading fans. Smart, but also dumb.

UGH

Okay y/n. Time to stop thinking and do something about yourself.

I sat up and looked around.

"Cody??" I knew the boys were out but I wanted to make sure. Cody had told me not to go out by myself. I think he was worried all the fangirls would attack me. I mean, he had a good point! He showed me the clip- clips of myself being harassed by them.

Was this a life I really wanted to go back to? That thought kept invading my thought sessions. I shoved it out of my mind again. No. If I was willing to put up with that there must be a good reason for it.

I finally made up my mind and went to open the door. As if on cue, Cody opened the door, almost slamming it in my face.

"Oh my god!! I'm so sorry!!" He looked at me, then looked down. "Wait, were you about to leave?" I nodded. His face went soft in understanding.

"I'll come with you but we have to be careful." Why had I expected a fight or at least slight anger? He was so calm about everything, so sweet about understanding how I felt and doing the exact right thing.

Cody, can you read minds??

I know it's dumb but sometimes I gotta ask just in case. It sure felt like he could.

HEY ARE YOU HEARING THIS??

I led us out of the house, Cody on my heels. He agreed to go out with me for a bit, but with a few conditions.

I had to wear the most ridiculous outfit to keep me unnoticed

We walked around the nearby shops, hoping to find something. I kept running up to different windows wishing I'd see something to make it all come back. But, there would always be nothing. Instead I would just see a pathetic girl in a flimsy yellow hat staring back at me. (like seriously this hat was awful, it was so floppy and bright like who makes such a disgusting hat?!?!?)

We stayed out longer than we expected. Only realizing when purple tinted the sky. Honestly, we had gotten carried away just enjoying each other and had forgotten all about the actual purpose of this venture. He told me all about his family and home back in Tennessee. I loved hearing about his little backyard and his dog named Barney. As the day went on I felt a closer attraction to him. I confided in him all my worries, and he untangled many of them. It was amazing. I didn't want to leave. (plus I mean who doesn't love a cute skater dude) I just hoped there was no boyfriend waiting for me in my actual life. Maybe I wouldn't mind staying oblivious for a bit longer.

We turned around the corner, clutching our iced teas. Accidentally, a bumped into someone walking the other direction. I looked up about to apologize but-

"Y/n?"
