let's talk about love.
Is it anything and everything
you hoped for?"

Veronica

Flipping through my books, I tried to absorb as much as possible.

Curse whoever created standardised tests.

"Ronnie?" Phineas said, knocking.

"Come in, bro."

He pushed the door open. "Time for dinner."

"I'm not eating anything made by that witch, you know that."

"She didn't cook today, Ron."

Thank goodness, I'm starving!

I slid off my bed.

"Aren't you gonna dress up a little. You know she likes us to look fancy."

I stared down at my juice stained, oversized sweater.

"Uh, no!"

He ran a hand through his red-brown curls.

"Just come down."

I put on my flip-flops and followed Phineas downstairs.

The Wicked Witch of my house aka my father's wife, changed everything when she came here.

Mum was an artist, and the house used to be filled with colourful paintings and sculptures.

Most of them are gone now.

Getting to the dining table, I frowned.

She was already there, with Dad, setting the table.

Dad looked up at me and smiled.

I didn't return it.

She'd changed Dad too.

He used to be so funny and carefree, now he's more strict and uptight.

He used to keep his red hair long and wavy, but she'd asked him to cut it short so he'd look more professional.

Part of me wishes that Vivian was like those stereotypical step-mothers, you know; ugly, wicked, evil. But she's the complete opposite.

She has a gorgeous, youthful face and warm eyes.

Character wise, she's super nice and friendly.
