ABBY's POV

"It's really great to see you alive and well right now, Abby Ruez," Mr. Hong said as he slowly walked towards me. "I was planning to contact you as well, but I guess I'll have to thank these girls for bringing you here instead."

I was confused for a moment, I thought that I was getting ahead by suddenly coming here with Miyeon, but it seems like they planned it all from the start. I gave her another look and she just seemed lost, which was enough for me to determine that she didn't plan it with them.

"Anyway, should we take this to my office?" The old man added. As expected, he's still full of himself even though his company is nearly bankrupt.

The members of (G)I-DLE seemed worried after hearing that I'll be alone with all of these men, because they probably knew what they were capable of doing just to get what they wanted.

However, I'm not that stupid to let my guard down in front of them. I have a lot of backup plans to protect myself if things go wrong. I wasn't nervous or worried about what could happen to me, so I just agreed calmly. I've been waiting for this moment to come, it's finally my chance to make them pay for what they've put me through.

Mr. Lee and Mr. Jung, the managers of (G)I-DLE started escorting me outside of the practice room with their CEO. They weren't showing much expressions, so I couldn't read how they felt after seeing me.

It wasn't that long until we heard Miyeon stopping us from completely leaving. "Wait."

We all turned around to look at her. The men seemed intrigued by her interruption, while I just stared at her blankly.

"It doesn't feel right for you to take her away from us while we're in the middle of something, Mr. Hong," she firmly said.

In which the CEO just laughed mockingly. "Why? I'll treat you to dinner for helping me get to this girl. Does that sound good, huh?"

However, there was something different with her this time. Her eyes were fuming with anger because of the disrespectful response, but she still managed to walk towards us and grab my hand in front of them without losing her composure. "I'll come with you, Abby."

I just shook my head and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"

I know for a fact that I wouldn't be able to let it all out if she's there watching me.

"I think it's right for me to be involved in your conversation Sir," she added as she moved her eyes to Mr. Hong. "I was the one who convinced her to come here after all."

The old man just smiled, looking yet again pleased. "Well if you insist, then I suppose you can join us."

Miyeon then looked at me with a determined expression as she held my hand tight. I wanted to let go, but she seemed sure of what she wanted.

"There's no need for you to do this, Miyeon-ah," I whispered to her. "Just leave it up to me."

"It's my choice, let me be there for you, Abby.." she kept a poker face as she replied. "They can get as manipulative as they can."

With that said, I discreetly took my cellphone out of my pocket and started setting up my backup plan through it.

So while all five of us were walking to the office of their CEO, I received a notification on my screen.

Voice recording connected to system.

I immediately returned it to my pocket and acted as if nothing happened until we reached the said office.
