"Today, on behalf of the Gucci board of directors, I would like to formally announce that we have re-signed our contracts with (G)I-DLE under Cube Entertainment. We have decided to work with them again alongside with our previous biggest star, Abby Ruez of Tuxe and Robes towards the anticipated Gucci annual fashion show where new clothing designs will be launched to the public," the head director said in front of everyone, including the staff, company models, and of course the members of (G)I-DLE themselves and I.
We don't have much time left to prepare for the upcoming major event which is in two weeks. This is where I've been spending my time and energy recently for. I wanted to be there for Soojin and help the girls to find a good source of income, because for some reason they've been struggling a lot financially. We might not exactly be on good terms, but it's a different topic especially if one's life is on the line. In this case, it's Soojin's mother, waiting for her kidney transplant at the hospital.
"Abby," Miyeon said, which immediately snapped me back into reality. It seems like I dozed off for a couple of seconds again. "The stylists backstage are looking for you. I guess it's time for you to get changed and hit the runway."
She's currently standing beside me, while everyone in the studio started moving around to do their assigned tasks. The remaining five members of (G)I-DLE on the other hand, were also standing just a few blocks away from us. They were looking at me with a glimpse of hope.
I was honestly starting to feel uncomfortable. Although I met and talked with some of them the other day, I have to admit that seeing them all together still brings back a lot of painful memories.
I just quietly nodded at her and walked straight past the members of (G)I-DLE. I could feel them staring at me the whole time.
Working with them again and with the Gucci company itself was obviously announced to everyone in a short notice, as none of these things would happen if I didn't talk to Mrs. Delton the other day and convinced them to return their partnership with these people. Given this situation, the staff in charge of the wardrobe are still making several runs through the dresses, making sure that they're the right fit for each member of (G)I-DLE before being brought to the stage. They were only able to prepare the most important dress ahead of time for their star of the night which turned out to be me.
Therefore, they're only here today because they have to undergo some important parts of model training. Although they've been idols for a couple of years now and have endorsed quite a lot of brands, it's still different from being professional models.
"Ms. Abby, here's your dress." One of the stylists said as she carefully handed me a strapless mermaid evening gown in gold, filled with real diamonds as beads.
I politely smiled at her. "It looks beautiful. I'm glad they finished this on time."
"You're the main event after all, Miss. They could take their time in other dresses, but definitely not yours. The directors would fire them in an instant."
I just nodded in agreement before I went inside their walk-in closet to change. It wasn't hard to put on the dress alone as I've been training in the industry for quite some time now. After I fixed myself more for a bit, I came out and the staff immediately crowded around me.
"You're definitely going to steal a lot of hearts during the fashion show, Ms. Abby!"
"She's right, Miss! We can all see why you were chosen as the main act of the night!"
I heard the others whispering as well about how the dress perfectly outlined my toned body and how elegant it looked on me. Of course, the compliments made me happy and it helped me regain my composure before I finally left the dressing room and returned to my place earlier where the stage director was already waiting for me.
