Rose Hathaway

It had been over a year since I left Court, closer to two. We had travelled everywhere, after we left Switzerland, we headed to Turkey, and stayed there for two months until I had my magic controlled. Since then, we had travelled to Spain and was now on our way to Egypt. The flight took hours and I had nothing better to do than sleep, but as it was, I had slept majority of it already. Looking around I saw Baba asleep, his head resting on Pavel's shoulder, who eyes occasionally rolled whenever my father snored but mainly stayed glued to his book. Lucas and Moira were asleep a few seats down from me and Ivan, who was watching a film on his laptop that he still felt shocked that I had gifted him. Wanting to laugh, I shook my head in amusement as he mouthed along to the words of Mary Poppins, but then I felt the tell-tale of the bond breaking through my barriers and I hung my head in weakness. I had wanted to detach from Lissa, but it seemed as if it was out of my control. Groaning I held my knees close to my chest and stared into nothing, my mind unable to block the assault of thoughts that weren't my own. The jet slowly faded away leaving me peering into what seemed to be the interior of Lissa's apartment.

Christian stood facing away from the stove, his body tensed as he glared at someone behind Lissa. As Lissa I felt tears streaking her cheeks and a tight throbbing in her chest. There were growls echoing throughout the room as whoever else was in the room was furious. Then Eddie walked into my line of sight and urged Sparky away from the stove, but the man fought him, reeling back around and pointed his finger in the direction of whoever was behind me.

"How dare you talk about Rose that way?" He yelled; anger evident on his face. The person scoffed and spoke, their voice caused both Lissa and me to snarl internally.

"That bloodwhore deserved to be dead. She was keeping Dimka from me. Me!" I knew immediately who it was. Tasha. Now knowing what I did made me wish I was back at Court so I could kill her. But I wouldn't because she was Christian's only family, well the only family that he knew of, that was. I wondered how badly he would be hurt when he found out the truth.

Dmitri or as the bitch called him, Dimka walked towards her, his Guardian mask gone and in its place was an expression of murderous intent. "I am not and have never been yours Lady Ozera. You are nothing to me anymore. Ivan and Rose, both warned me of your true self but the fool I am, I never believed them, and how I wish I had."

Tasha sneered her face one of anger and hurt. "Ivan was stupid. I am glad he is dead; I just wish I had been there when the Strigoi I hired mauled him to death." She quickly inhaled realising her mistake. Dmitri went pale and still while everyone else froze, their eyes wide. I watched in sorrow as Dmitri's face fell and he followed soon after.

Lissa stepped towards Tasha; her perfectly slim fingers curled into fists. Lissa stared into Tasha's eyes, and I felt the surge of power flow through her, as she pushed her influence onto Tasha. From my experience I knew Lissa looked like an angel when she used compulsion. Tasha had no chance of fighting it, her muscles went slack as she was forced to relax, and her eyes sparkled with admiration as Lissa's voice sounded like chimes in the wind.

"Natasha, did you have Lord Ivan Zeklos murdered?"

Tasha nodded her smile soft, a contrast to the rest of her face. "Yes, Vasilisa I did." I felt as Lissa shook her head and felt her disgust, but she proceeded with her questioning. "Why is that?"

Through Lissa's eyes, I looked to where Dmitri sat, leaning against Christian for support and tears fell before returning my focus back to Tasha. "I have wanted Dimka since he was just thirteen," she still tried to break away from Lissa's glaze, but she was too weak, "I requested him the moment he graduated but the court and St Basil's had already assigned him to Ivan. I pleaded with Ivan, but he just scoffed at me. I then pleaded with Dimka many times, but he ignored me, so I contacted a friend of mine and he was more than happy to have Ivan killed."
