It was the 6th of January as they stepped off the train and onto the platform to the great hall. Everyone who went home for new years found a seat at a table. Lily sat with Mel and Rose, while Scorpius, Lorcan, Hugo and Ethan sat at the Hufflepuff table, and Albus sat with James and Michael.
"Okay, everyone! I have a announcement" McGonagall announced "Professor Aristrole, our Astronomy teacher has retired over the break, in her replace is Professor Erin Gruwell". Rose glanced over at Scorpius, he looked quite glum, she knew this would be big news to him, Professor Aristrole was his favorite teacher, she hoped he could still enjoy Astronomy.
After dinner, Melody, Rose, Lily, James and Michael started walking to the Hufflepuff table, but they were quickly stopped by Albus. "what!" Melody hissed at him "I'm going to do it, I know he's sad, but the last thing he wants in 5 of you running over to him" Albus said calmly. "you know what Mel, I think my little brother's right" James said "Albus, come back to the common room straight after" Melody piped up before he left. Albus hurried over to his best friend.
15 minutes later he arrived back in the common room "is he okay?" Rose quickly asked "what's up with you Ro, you are acting like you are suddenly his best friend, anyway, he is fine, just a little disappointed Professor Aristrole has left" Albus replied. "sorrrry, he is my friend to!" Rose yelled "I'm going to go unpack" Melody said not wanting to be there if anyone got into a big fight.
The next day:
"umm... professor Gruwell" Rose said "professor Aristrole, made us stand in the corners of the room depending on what house you are in" she continued " "well, I am not her and I think students should be no ware near there friends" Professor Aristrole spat.
A little while later it happened again, only but this time is was from snide who was saying the exact opposite of what they normally do. "Professor, when we all line up to look through the telescope, the Slytherins go first" Snide said "oh, okay! Gryffindor's switch with the Slytherin's" Gruwell said happily.
"Professor Gruwell, Snide is lying, the Gryffindor's go first, and then the Hufflepuff's and we use all the telescopes in groups, not one in a long line" Lily explained
"20 POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR FOR BOTH MS.WEASLEY AND MS.POTTER FOR SPEAKING ALOUD and detention with headmistress tomorrow night, is that clear!" Professor Aristrole spat directly to Rose and Lily "yes" they mumbled under there breth.
"um, sir if they have detention Gruwell I'm going with them" Melody said "fine, give yourself a free detention Miss. McKaya, anyone else want a detention?" Professor asked. No reply... "good, then keep quiet!" Aristotle roared. No body talked for the rest of the lesson.
After the lesson:
"that was 10 times worse than I thought it would be" Mel said after they left class. "I know, I can't Believe we got detention on the first day!" Rose said "I have to agree with you Ro" Lily agreed.
"look on the bright side guys, at least we have detention with McGonagall, not him" Melody said "I'm trying, I'm trying, but I'm so *yawn* tired, it's 11 O'clock on a week day" Lily yawned.
They went to bed almost straight away, because they were so tired 😴 but you would have never, ever guessed what time they woke up at.
The Next Morning: "*yawn* wakey wakey it's 6!" Lily said "okay, okay but why do we need to wake up so early?" Rose asked "we don't, but it's Tuesday, the say we owl our parents" Lily said.
"what is all of the commotion about?" Maya asked "were owling our parents because it is Tuesday" Rose said. "oh, I'd better do that too" Maya replied. Before long they were yelling "melody and kayla!" Until they woke up.
