You came back home from work and went straight to you and Draco's room
You went in and saw him sitting on the bed with his knees up to his chest and his face in his hands
He looked up and got slightly startled when he saw you
D: oh hey
Y/n: hi
Y/n: I didn't know you were here sorry
Y/n: are you ok?
D: yeah
Y/n: sure?
D: yeah I'm ok
Y/n: are you 100% sure?
Draco sighed
D: no
Y/n: did something happen?
D: yes
Y/n: well what happened?
D: look I'm just in a bit of a funk right now
Y/n: do you wanna talk about it?
D: no
D: this is just a...
D: this is just a me thing
D: ok?
D: weak moment
D: I'll get through it
He sniffled
You decided to leave
Yes you knew he wasn't ok but you didn't wanna push his boundaries
He would tell you if he wanted to and you'd be there for him and if he didn't wanna tell you, you'd give him space
D: wait
You looked back at him
D: um
D: can you like...
He swallowed hard
D: sss
D: st-
D: stick around?
D: just a little bit
D: please
You nodded and sat at the foot of the bed
D: thanks
He looked down at his hands and you stayed attentive
D: y-
D: you can sit uhh
D: next.... To me.....
D: if you want
Draco scooched to the side a bit and you sat down next to him
You both stayed silent for a few minutes till draco drew in a deep breath
D: uhh
D: I...
D: I like spring nights
Y/n: really?
Y/n: how come?
D: they're cold
D: cold, cool summer nights too
D: they um
D: they have a certain smell to them don't they?
Y/n: yeah they do
Y/n: I like them too
Y/n: they're very nice
After that it was silent for a bit
All you could hear was you and Draco breathing
D: um can I...
D: can- can I uh
D: do something that's a little unorthodox for me
Y/n: yeah what is it?
D: can I just like um
D: rest my head on...
D: or or just lean
D: you know whatever the two you're most comfortable with
D: can I do one of those two things please?
Y/n: of course
D: thank you
He slowly put his head on your shoulder and took in a few deep breaths
D: thank you
D: can I...
D: can I ask you something else?
Y/n: mhm
D: could you maybe um
D: pat....
You rubbed his scalp back in forth in a massaging motion
D: thank you
Draco absolutely adored when you rubbed or scratched his scalp or played with his hair so you knew this made him feel loved
Y/n: are you sure you don't wanna talk about anything?
D: no I'm ok I'm still ok
Y/n: come on it's ok
D: no
D: it's not something I can talk about
Y/n: why?
D: cause... it's a me thing
Y/n: you know you can tell me anything
D: it's a me thing I told you
D: It's something I have to uh
D: deal with get over its uh
D: this is a me thing
D: I have to do it
D: I have to teach myself to do it by myself
Y/n: it's ok just know there's nothing wrong in-
D: I know I know there's nothing wrong in asking for help
D: but uh
D: i hate asking for help
Y/n: why it's fine?
D: I don't like it

D: who am I to receive help
D: I haven't suffered like-
Y/n: please let me help you

D: I have to do it by myself

You kissed his head and kept rubbing his head
D: this is all I need

D: this isn't too much to ask is it?
Y/n: of course not
D: sorry
D: I do appreciate though

Y/n: what is it?

D: I- I uh
D: lap- head- uh my... he-head lap
Y/n: yeah
You put a pillow on your lap and shifted to a more comfortable position
D: ok
D: sorry
D: I'm just uh nervous
D: I hope my head- hair doesn't smell
D: I washed it this morning
He laid his head down of the pillow slightly awkwardly and started breathing a little heavy
Y/n: you uncomfortable?
D: no it's just uh
D: I've never done this before
D: um....
D: can I ask you a question?
Y/n: yeah
D: sorry for the breathing I'm... not... comfortable
D: no I am but I'm just not...
D: you know
D: yeah this is different for me
Y/n: yeah I understand
Y/n: you're good
D: ok
D: why do you uh...
D: why do you like me?
Y/n: what do you mean?
D: I don't get it
D: I'm not that great
D: and I feel like I don't have that much to give you
Y/n: well you're really sweet and-
D: it's not like that
D: well um
D: remember how I told you I don't like asking for help or any of that stuff?
Y/n: yes
D: it's... well
D: I know I don't really ask you for much
D: I try not to
D: just a couple things really but
D: you're still giving me a lot of... I guess you call it attention
Y/n: well cause you're my boyfriend
D: yeah I know boyfriend but
D: I don't know what to do with that
Y/n: well just know I love you and I'm here for you
D: yeah I get that
D: but still it's like um
D: I wanna...
D: I wanna do something for you
Y/n: like?
D: I don't know...
D: what do you want?
Y/n: anything you want
D: I could... I don't know
D: to be honest I'm just
D: I don't know what to give you and I don't know what you want
D: I just know that I have you and that uh
D: you like me
D: and that's enough for me
D: I feel like we're in a position where to be honest
D: I don't really mind what you do very much
D: you kinda let me do what I want and you like me and I like you because you like me
D: i don't know if that's wrong or not
D: and I feel like if I did ask you for something
D: I.... I feel like you wouldn't be that rebellious or disagree person of me
Y/n: well it depends
D: yeah depending on what it is but i don't know
D: I like you just for being here
D: I like you...
D: how does this work?
D: I don't know what to do
D: and
D: to be honest I'm just afraid I'm not doing enough for you
Y/n: you're ok
D: im fine?
Y/n: yeah
D: well just let me know
D: I'm happy when you're happy
D: I'm really happy when youre happy
D: it's kinda what makes me happy
D: it's a pretty good trade off isn't it?
Y/n: yeah it is
He shifted his head a bit as you kept scratching his head and rubbing his back
D: uh
D: you...
D: you like
D: my uh singing right?
D : you said you do?
You nodded
D: I know I'm not the best
D: that's ok
D: i never thought of myself as very good anyway
D: but I like to sing cause... i don't know
D: it feels peaceful
D: I could sing for you if you want
D: as a reminder 'thank you' for this
Y/n: sure go ahead
D: ok one second stay here
He got up and got his guitar
When he sat back down he started singing your favorite song and strumming along with it
That's when you realized how much he needed you and how much you needed him
Draco was going to be the one
The father to your kids
The one who's last name you'd take
And you couldn't be happier
With his slightly red face he looked at you with sweet eyes as he kept singing
A slightly smile appeared on both of your faces and you swayed back and forth with Draco's singing
This whole moment meant so much to you because you knew Draco wasn't very open about his feelings and it was hard for him to receive and even harder to ask for your affection
It was a meaningful moment that both you and Draco would cherish forever
