You were taken aback at what he just told you
You turned around and walked out the Slytherin common room and went to the lake
The lake always made you feel better in one way or another
You took some rocks and threw them at the lake making them bounce on the water
After a while you felt tears swelling in your eyes
Blaise had been your boyfriend for 1 1/2 years but he had always treated you like crap
Today was enough
He had degraded you in front of all his friends and brushed it off like it was nothing
You took another pebble and threw it harshly at the lake now with tears flowing out of your face

And you threw another one
And another one

You felt arms wrap around your waist and hot breath on your ear
C: it's ok
C: let it all go
You turned around and saw Cedric standing there
Sobs escaped your throat and Cedric hugged you tight letting you cry into his chest

C: shhh
C: I'm here I'm here
C: it will all be ok

He rocked you back and forth slightly
You cried for a good 5 minutes into his hug
Cedric sat down on with his back on a tree and you stayed in his arms for a while

Y/n: thank you Diggory
Y/n: I'm sorry to bother you
C: no it's ok
C: you're no bother
C: I saw you walking out of the Slytherin common room and saw you didn't look the best
C: what happened?
Y/n: me and Blaise broke up
C: really?
C: how come?
Y/n: well he never treated me right and today he was just an a*shole
C: yeah I noticed him being ruder than usual
C: thank you for telling me
Y/n: I know we don't really talk but thank you for being here for me
C: of course
C: I'm just doing what a decent human would do
Y/n: right
Y/n: well I should go
You stood up and dusted yourself off
C: goodbye
C: tell me if you need anything

You walked back to your dorm and took a shower then went to bed
The next morning you walked to your first class and saw Blaise had a black eye
Draco was next to you
D: Diggory came and punched Blaise last night
D: he said something about him being a d*ck
D: he didn't walk out without a few bruises
Y/n: right...
Y/n: that's odd
D: the audacity of that kid
D: of course he's not gonna try that again
D: Blaise showed him
Draco smiled proudly and Snape began with his lesson

At lunchtime you sat alone in the Slytherin table but not for long
Cedric walked in and you went to him

He had a busted lip and several bruises along his body
C: nothing
Y/n: why would you get in a fight with blaise?

Y/n: Diggory you can't tell me it's nothing
Y/n: I heard what happened

C: I couldn't let him get away with it

He smiled at you then went to sit with his friends
As soon as he sat down the whole Hufflepuff table cheered for him
You sat back down and finished your lunch
DADA was your last class of the day so after that you kinda wandered around for a bit
Cedric then came up to you when you were on your way to your common room

C: wait Y/n?
Y/n: yeah?
C: are you going to the quidditch game?
Y/n: um I wasn't planning to
C: come cheer me on
C: it'll be fun
Y/n: sure
Y/n: do I need tickets?
C: I don't think so
C: If you do just say you're with me k?
Y/n: ok
Y/n: thank you
C: yeah
He seemed really happy you said yes
C: well I gotta go
C: bye
Y/n: bye!

You went to the library for a bit until it was time for the game
It was hufflepuff against slytherin so it was gonna be quite interesting
The bleachers were almost full but you found a spot next to Neville Longbottom

You weren't much for calling people by their first name but you knew how much he hated his last name and you didn't mind him too much so you made an exception for him
