We stopped at a large house that looked newly built. He opened the door and led me to the kitchen. I sat on a chair there looking around. His house had those homey feelings that I hadn't. I noticed the pictures that were hung on the walls, they had only him and his father. Is his mother dead? If not, where is she now? A sound interrupted my thoughts. I looked back at the sound of him opening the fridge. He took out an orange juice and was putting it in a glass cup.
"Take this" he handed me the glass.
"Don't be anxious, your mother will be okay" he said
"I hope" I added
"Where's your father?" he asked
"I don't have one" I responded
"You know, it's the opposite to me, I don't have a mother. She left me with my father alone when I was five and never contacted me after, but I'm not mad at her she had her own reason. I am only sad for my father" he added.
"It sucks, doesn't it?" I sighed.
"It does." He said before looking back at the door as it opened to reveal his father.
I got up from my chair rushing to his father and asking "Where's mum? Is she okay? What happened there? Can I go see her? Will you take me?" I asked a question after another
"Hey calm down boy your mother is still in the hospital, she's okay and what happened there was, signing some paper and she's now resting. Also, I can't take you right now the doctor said she must rest for some days and then I will take you to her" he responded to my questions and kneeled down on his knees.
"Is there any of your family members or your mother's friends that you can we can call" I shook my head
"Okay I will also check about this tomorrow but now you can stay here and sleep with Sungwoo" he left us and walked to what seemed like his bedroom.
"What do you wanna do now? Watch a movie? Talk? Or just sleep?" he questioned
" Anything but sleeping" I responded
"Umm okay, I am sure you're hungry so do I, so let's make food" he opened the lower drawer and grabbed a pot
"So, what should we make? toasts with eggs and bacon or pancakes with chocolate" he suggested
"We can make the two" I added
"Right choice" he said
"What can I help you with?" I asked
"You can make the eggs and bacon and I'll do the rest" he responded
I took the pot and put it on the stove cracking the eggs in it. I waited for a while till it's finished and took it out. Then I asked him for the butter for grilling the bacon. I looked at him surprised by how fast he was finishing the pancakes and the toasts. We finished making the food putting them on plates. The plates were placed on the kitchen table with us sitting beside each other.
'' I think you already figured out but my name is sungwoo, what's yours'' he asked
" Yoongi " I responded
" Nice name" he collected the plates and put them in the sink.
