(Y/N) rushed to his cabin as quickly as he could. Upon arrival, he released Froakie from its Poké Ball and fed it some berries. As Froakie savored its meal, (Y/N) sat down in a chair and began to speak.

(Y/N): Froakie!

Froakie, busy munching on a berry: Froakie?

(Y/N): You know, ever since Grandpa passed away, I've been pondering the idea of going on an adventure. I've reached an age where I can explore the vast world. But... I've had this one lingering question. What's the point? However, today, I found the answer.

(Y/N) stood up from his chair.

(Y/N): Battling with you is and always has been so much fun. So, let's embark on an adventure to become the strongest! You and I will defeat every strong trainer and Pokémon we encounter, legendary or mythical – it doesn't matter!

Froakie abruptly stood up and devoured the rest of his berries in one go.

(Y/N): Buddy?

Froakie: FROAKIE!!!!!!

(Y/N): I'll take that as a YES!!!!

(Y/N) retrieved his backpack.

(Y/N): We're leaving tomorrow, so let's start preparing now. But before that, let's take one last stroll through our beautiful forest.

Froakie hopped onto (Y/N)'s shoulder, and they eagerly stepped out the door to explore the woods one last time. As they roamed, (Y/N) suddenly remembered.

(Y/N): Remember that Pikachu we saved a few months back, Froakie?

Froakie smiled and nodded.

(Y/N): Let's go see how he's doing.

(Y/N) raced through the woods until he reached a grassy meadow with a large tree in the middle.

(Y/N): Pikachu?

He looked around the place where he last saw the Pikachu and then felt a jolt on his ankle.

(Y/N): Oh my!

Raichu: Rai!

It was the same Pikachu, but now it had evolved into a Raichu.

(Y/N): You evolved?!

Raichu: Rai rai!

Raichu sprang to his feet and hugged (Y/N). Afterward, he greeted Froakie.

(Y/N): Gosh, I'm pretty sure Pikachus only evolve when they touch a Thunder Stone. I suppose you got extremely lucky and came across one, huh?

Raichu: Rai!

(Y/N): Alright, Raichu.

Raichu: Rai?

(Y/N): Froakie and I are leaving for an adventure tomorrow, so we came to say goodbye.

Raichu's ears folded back, and he stared at the ground.

Raichu: Rai...

(Y/N): Hey, it's alright. You're a strong Raichu now. We won't be gone forever, and we'll be back one day.

Raichu: Raichu...

(Y/N): Alright, Raichu. Until we meet again, stay safe!

(Y/N) gave him a fist bump, and Froakie patted him on the back. They then returned to their cabin to pack, feeling a sense of sadness about the farewell.

Next Day

(Y/N): Alright!

With his backpack filled with necessary supplies, including two Poké Balls and a single Ultra Ball his grandfather had given him, (Y/N) was ready to embark on his journey. He also had camping equipment and cash – he figured he'd earn more money along the way since trainers were well-paid these days.

(Y/N): Let's head out!!!

Froakie: Froakie!!!

He took one last look around his house and locked the cabin door. Then, (Y/N) made his way to a nearby tree where his grandfather's grave rested.

(Y/N): Grandpa, I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon. You always said that the world is a bigger place than I can ever imagine, so I decided to check it out. Wish me luck!

He gave a thumbs up and proceeded to walk to Pallet Town, as there was something he needed to discuss with Professor Oak.

Upon arriving at the professor's lab, he noticed the door was already open.

(Y/N): Hello? Anyone there?

Shortly after, an old man stepped out.

(Y/N): Oh, are you Professor Oak?
