"So you're mad because I came crashing into your apartment...?"
"No. I'm mad because you didn't come crashing into my arms, cutie."

"They're THAT loud?"
"Yeah. Ash and I haven't had any sleep for the past few days. It's fucking irritating."
On a hazy afternoon, Serena and Emily were running the front of their bakery as cashiers, while they talked about how annoyingly loud Ash and Serena's upstair neighbors were. They were a family of 4, now 5; and Serena hadn't had any problems with them until the wife's third child came along.
While Serena and Ash lived quietly under them, they constantly heard yelling, crying, stomping, and other irrational noises. It had been going on for almost a week and it was starting to drive them crazy. Ash himself had learned to get out the house without getting his skin burnt just so he could escape the noise.
"It looks like it's really starting to take a toll on you." Emily sighed.
"Do I look ugly?" Serena asked.
"No, you just look exhilarated."
"I am exhilarated." Serena said. "But it won't stop me from getting paid."
"But Serena, you usually work the most."
"You're right." Serena sighed, with her hand slouching on her cheek. "Why do you think we're not getting that much customers today?"
Just as Emily was about to answer, their boss, Rose, popped through their back door.
"Hey girls," She said. "Can you tell everyone to come to the back room for a moment? It's an emergency."
"Okay, so everyone remembers Jen, right?" Rose asked, with everyone nervously nodding in response.
"Is she coming back?!" A worker asked.
"No. Unfortunately, they've discovered her body in the lake a few days ago."
"Wait, she's DEAD?!"
"Apparently. I got a call saying that police are going to be here to investigate, so I need to give you all your last checks before I close the bakery down for the investigation."
Emily raised her hand. "How long will the investigation be?"
"Until I get another call to open up the bakery; and sadly, I don't know when that is." Rose said.
Serena shivered nervously, hoping she wouldn't have to go through any questioning since she fought with Jen the day she left early. And she, in fact, wasn't the one who last saw her.
But however, Serena wasn't as terrified as everyone else. She was intimidated to hear the sudden news, but inside of her mind, she didn't really care. At all. Her hate for Jen was immeasurable, having only known her for less than 10 hours. It would've been cruel-hearted of her to laugh, giggle and celebrate about someone's death, especially in front of everyone else, so she kept it to herself.
