When Amani told me about Safiya's feelings for Yazid, I couldn't help but chuckle.

She wanted me to go against it but I wouldn't, after all Yazid was far better for the girl than Badamasi.

In our entire family house, Badamasi was the problematic one. He used to smoke and bring girls into the house.

I would call him a plague!

Anyways, that aside.

Let's talk about Rahmat Ali.

Ever since we met some time ago I had included myself in her battle, the battle of sending all her rapists to jail and clearing her sullied name.

Initially I thought the battle was just about to end when I joined it but I was wrong, the police refused to send the culprits to prison without trial hence extending the length of the battle.

Yesterday Rahmat and I, together with Barrister Khadija went and offered the police some money to just send the bad guys to prison but they rejected and even threatened to detain us for offering them bride. When did the Nigerian police became pious?

Well, it might look like bribery but we just didn't want to waste time in court when evidences are clear the culprits were the ones that raped Rahmat. In fact one of them looked at her and said he missed her so badly.

After leaving the police station, Barrister Khadija told us the new DPO was the one making things hard for us and that there was nothing we could do but to appear in court with all the evidences we had with us. "We will surely win!" she assured us.

I was satisfied with her assurance but Rahmat wasn't, she just wanted a swift judgement which wouldn't be happening.

Barrister Khadija bade us goodbye and drove away while we, on the other hand, drove back to Rahmat's hotel room. It was as dull as always.

I sat in a sofa, running my eyes across the room as she pulled off her scarf and went into the bathroom to wash her face.

As soon as she returned back, she asked what I would like to eat so she could place an order for both of us.

"Well, not that hungry but you can order anything" I said with a gulp.

"Okay then" She said and quickly made a call. "Pizza and some drinks please, room 15!" She ordered. And in less than two minutes, a knock echoed from the door. It was a waiter.

She quickly headed to the door and got the package, thus she walked over to me and placed it on the table in front of the sofa.

"Let's eat" She said sitting close to me.

"Okay" I huffed and waited for her to open the package. While eating, she asked how Amani was doing and I smiled. "She's fine, growing everyday"

"Why wouldn't she grow?" She muttered and continued. "She's married to a handsome rich man, she's eating good food and living peacefully"

"Hmm, not that! She's just growing, normal growing" I said.

"If you say so" She said with her mouth filled with a cut of pizza. "By the way," she swallowed it. "The girl is beautiful"

"Yes, but not as beautiful as you" I said visualizing the two of them. "Your skin color ain't the same, you aren't chubby, your face is breathtaking, you have ample bosoms..."

She broke into a laughter. "Tell me something I don't know, I can see I am more than her in many ways" She said.

"Well," I gulped. "Amani is just... unique in her own way. You might be more beautiful than her but I love her a lot"

"Okay, enough. I think I've heard enough about her already. I just wish..." She paused. "Never mind!"

"What? Tell me! " I insisted staring at her.

"Okay I wish we could get back to each other after clearing my name, you are the only man I can peacefully live with. The only man that understood me and know my plight" She lamented.

I didn't know what to say to her after that so I kept quiet. First, there was no way my parents or anyone in our family house would ever support bringing her back into my life let alone marrying her. She should just forget about us marrying each other and focus on clearing her name first.

After eating, she cleared the table and asked if I needed anything. "Nope," I negatively shook my head and stood to my feet. "I should be going now, we would meet tomorrow God's Willing"

"Okay then" She said wearing a sad face. "You missed her, don't you?" She asked referring to Amani.

"Yes, I missed her. Although I am not going straight home, wanna check our shop first" I said glancing at my wristwatch.

"You should drive carefully then, and take good care of yourself please" She sexily said with a charming smile, I just had to control myself.

"Sure" I said and left as fast as I could.

While in the car, I huffed thinking about her. Would she be able to find a decent man to marry? I wondered. Well, maybe yes but definitely not in Minna or Nigeria entirely!

Hopefully, after clearing her name I would advise her to leave the country and start a new life elsewhere. United Kingdom would be great for a fluent English speaker like her, or the U.S.

The day went well and the following day happened to be a very busy day that I couldn't even visit her. She called though and I told her frankly that I was busy.

"It's a market day, you know?" I had said.

"Okay then, just be safe please" She had implored.

When it was finally time for home, something told me to see her but another part of me warned me of the danger. Anything could happen that evening, I really didn't like visiting her in such time. It was already getting dark and Amani could be waiting for me already. Thus, I drove home straight.

Yazid opened the gate for me, after which I drove in and parked in the parking lot. He then greeted me while I was about heading to the storey. Just then the thought of Safiyah came into my mind.

"Can I ask you something, Yazid?" I uttered tucking my hands into my pockets.

"Sure sir, anything sir" He said amicably.

"Good. Do you have any girlfriend?" I asked.

"Hmm," he smiled. "Is oga trying to give me someone?" He asked.

"Just answer my question" I glared at him.

"Okay sir, I don't really have a girlfriend but..." He said as I cut in.

"What about Safiyah? Do you love her?" I asked.

Just as he was about replying, Amani came out walking swiftly towards us while calling my name. She must have wondered what was keeping me out after having heard the sound of my car accelerating in.

"We'd talk some other time!" I said to Yazid and waved at him to go.

"Okay sir" He bowed a little and left.
