Twenty-three

Once Phoenix as well as Bellamy made it to their separate foxholes still nothing happened.

Phoenix was expecting war drums when they were close.

In her foxhole there was Miller as well as Octavia.

The foxhole was pretty packed with just three people, so Phoenix decided to go up in a tree to get to higher ground.

Before she could leave Miller stopped her. "Wait here." He says while giving her a radio.

"Thank you." Phoenix said while he nodded. "Once I see any sign of grounders I'll radio." Phoenix says as Octavia and Miller nodd.

"Be careful." Octavia says with concern i'm her eyes.

Phoenix nodded and gave her a reassuring smile.

Once she got up in a medium sized tree Phoenix put the radio in a pocket of her jacket.

She then put back the two throwing knifes she used to climb up that tree. She took out one of her swords getting ready for anything. In case she sees one of the scouts up in the trees.

Bellamy goes to the south foxhole where Octavia and Phoenix were supposed to be.

"Where's Octavia and Phoenix?!" Bellamy asks with his gun in hand.

"Phoenix is in that tree, she should be down here before the grounders get here, she's just our eye in the sky. Octavia, I have no idea she was here five minutes ago, she thinks she's a damn samurai." Miller says as Bellamy smiles a little bit.

"Does Phoenix have a radio?" Bellamy asks.

"Yes." Miller respons as Monroe gets next to Bellamy with a gun.

"Good," Bellamy responds getting out his radio.

"Phoenix, you see anything up there?" Bellamy asks through the radio. While Phoenix takes out her radio to talk back to Bellamy.

"Nothing yet. Wait yes, I see movement. I'm coming down. They should be at the north foxhole in T-minus two minutes, get ready." Phoenix says looking over towards sterling to see grounders coming their way.

"I see them. They're moving! I count two, 3, no, wait, there's more. I don't know, man. There's too many of them." Sterling says through the radio as Phoenix makes her way down.

Then there were gunshots heard throughout the forest.

"Who was that?" Bellamy asks.

"Sterling, I think. North foxhole." Miller responses

"North foxhole, report now." Bellamy orders

"Yeah, yeah. We're ok. They didn't attack. It's like... it's like shooting at ghosts." Sterling says as Phoenix makes it all the way down the tree and sees a figure in the distance.

"Shit." She says under her breath.

That grounder definitely saw her.

Phoenix hid behind a tree hoping the grounder wouldn't come towards her.

Once she looked back she now saw three grounders making their way towards the tree she's hiding behind.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck fuck." She hissed under her breath.

She takes out her swords and peeks around the corner.

"Phoenix, where are you? Report." Bellamy says through the radio in which the three grounders now runs at her while she jumps out behind the tree, getting ready for attack.
