Breaking The Villain

^^ This is how Kirigan looked at Aurelia before leaving her and Alina  with the guards.

Kirigan didn't ask me anyting, i don't know if it was because he knew that even i didn't have any answers or because he was simply unbothered. Alina, though she too didn't try to pry for answers but she did glance at me quite a few times. She was apprehensive. Even when everyone tried to act unbothered the air was thick with tension, i could feel it and I'm sure they could too.

Immediately after, without any delay, the three of us mounted our respective horses and continued our journey in silence. I don't exactly know how long it took us to reach the little palace but it cirtainly felt like forever.

The little palace was as grand as discribed in the books if not more and the walls were certainly made of gold. Our horses stopped at the entrance, kirigan helped Alina get down the horse while i jumped off mine. I couldn't comprehend where the castle started or where it ended as the walls seemed to continue for eternity.

Me and alina made our way throught the huge dome shaped entrance lined with guards with kirigan behind us

"You'll be safe here" i heard his voice

"The palace is the most secure building in the whole country"

I couldn't help but snort at that, i tried to cover it up by coughing but i knew it was too late, the damage was already done. I heard kirigans' step faulter for a millisecond. If i hadn't given him a reason to get suspicious before, now i certainly did

I mentally scolded myself for the slip up and tried to keep my mouth shut as much as possible.

"I made sure of it" i didn't have to turn around to know that he was looking at me, the heat from his stare made me sweat a little

Kirigan stopped and we stopped with him. He gestured to his left towards a hallway with two guards

We both stepped into the hallway assuming kirigan will follow us but started to turn away

"Where are you going?" Alina asked apprehensive of the new place. I knew that after the incident she wouldn't trust me as much as she did before.

Kirigan didn't answer her but turned to the guards

"Take them to the vezda suites"

Alina looked at the guards and back at kirigan

"Am i a prisoner?" She looked confused

'We', Alina I'm also here, remember? I thought

"All of Ravka is. Until you and I banish the fold" he was looking at Alina agaun, like she was the only one in the room. Just him and her, no guards, no other grisha, no me.

He nodded once at the gurds and turned to leave but before he did he glanced at me, our eyes met for a second and then he was gone.

"So no pressure" i heard Alina mutter. I didn't bother to look at her, to gauge her reaction because first, i already knew what her reaction was going to be and second I don't really care what her reaction was.

I turned around, my expression passive and head held high in authority, ready to go to the room and relax, the guards saw that i was getting impatient and quickly started to lead the way. Alina on the other hand was stuck at her position. After a second she hastily turned around and ran to catch up to us. From my peripheral vision i could see her glance at me. She looked at me with slight apprehension and ...disgust?
I could be wrong but she looked ...distant.

We walked though hundreds of hallways and climbed a number of stairs, every hallway had magnificent crystal chandeliers and gold lined walls, it was breathtaking to say the least. After a walk of solid fifteen minutes we reached the first suite. As soon as the guards opened the door to the first suite Alina hurriedly went inside and shut the door.

What just happened? I thought dumbfounded. I stood there staring at the door for a minute

Did she not want me to take the room or she was in a dire situation and wanted to use the bathroom.

I really tried my best to form a reasonable explanation for her actions but i couldn't.

I glanced  at the guards, the guards looked at me and then at eachother processing the actions of their sun- summoner. I gave them a small smile and gestured for them to show the other suite. They nodded and started leading the way.

It was just a short distance from Alinas suite. The guards opened the door and i walked in. The room was much bigger than Alinas room in the show and it also had a sitting area with coral couches. The bed, the dressing table and the bathroom was exactly the same. There was a huge window on the right side of the room, much bigger than the one in Alinas room. I was perfectly happey with the room.

I thanked the guards, closed the french doors and ran to the bed. When i reached the bedpost i jumped and landed on the soft mattress with a plop and closed my eyes ready to fall asleep

But before that i couldn't help but think about Alinas actions. There was no reasonable explanation. I laid on the bed for minutes tinking about it but at the end i grew tired and decided to not worry too much

Is the last thought i had before i fell into a deep sleep.
